Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop -Olive shower gel

on 8/18/2018 12:15:00 PM

This is another example of where products in The Body Shop ranges don't smell the same. I love the Olive Body Butter from this range - it's my favourite one for summertime - but this shower gel doesn't have the same scent at all. Whereas the body butter is really fresh and clean, this smells very synthetic and heavy. It also doesn't foam up very well, meaning I end up using twice as much as I would with a regular shower gel.

I've got one more bottle of this to use up and once that's finished, I won't be repurchasing it. I would definitely recommend the body butter in this range though, it smells divine and makes my skin really soft and smooth without being greasy.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop -Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil

on 8/15/2018 3:39:00 PM

I got this as part of a set-- it came with a small jar of the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Cream. I've used it a few times. It doesn't seem to do much, to be totally honest. My skincare regimen already involves 7-8 different products, so maybe that's why I haven't noticed a difference with this oil.

You're only supposed to use two drops of it at a time. It absorbs quickly and smells nice. As someone with oily/ combination skin, I'm wary of intentionally rubbing more oil onto my face, but it doesn't seem to break me out or make anything worse.

If I get this again, it will only be because the set with the cream is cheaper than buying a jar of the cream by itself.

Foundations -The Body Shop -Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation

I don't hate this foundation, nor I love it.

The finish is definitely matte. I feel like this foundation could emphasize my dry patches I didn't know I have if I'm not careful. Definitely not meant for dry skin, but if the label says "matte clay" I'm pretty sure they're targeting oily skin market. It is also labeled as a skin clarifying, therefore I assume it's safe for acne-prone skin? Although I don't feel a direct result (it reducing my acne, etc), it's not breaking me out either so there's that.

Coverage wise is ok, somewhere between medium-high. I really like the tube packaging because it is sleek and travel friendly.

The shade range kinda sucks, I got the shade 014 Railay Beach and it is too pale (almost grey-ish?) for me (I am NC15-20 on MAC). But the next shade is definitely too dark and too pink. So they didn't leave me with choices here.

Pro: travel friendly, matte finish if you're into that, ok coverage
Cons: slightly emphasize your dry patches, bad shade range

Cleansers -The Body Shop -himalayan charcoal soap

on 8/13/2018 2:51:00 AM

I switched to minimal packaging and thus wanted to try it and I totally love it. Leaves you squeaky clean and oil control is good, I break out lesser, only thing is I doubt it's for sensitive skin due to eucalyptus and tea tree oil so please check the ingredient list before you buy.

Liquid -The Body Shop -Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation

on 8/10/2018 11:31:00 PM

I really loved how this made my skin look natural, didn't feel heavy at all. Loved the formula, lasted a long time. I did not realize that the application was a sponge type, I had forgotten how I dislike those kinds of foundations. However, if this formula was in a bottle, I'd re-buy I think. I might try their other foundations. The product didn't hold very much and I ran out quite quickly.
