Treatments (Eye) -The Body Shop -Fragrance-Free Elderflower Eye Gel

This is a great pickup for tired, hungover or puffy eyes. Sometimes just nice as a refresher. Good to keep in the fridge.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop -Vitamin E Moisture Cream

on 12/10/2018 12:23:00 AM

only bought this product because I was unable to find pure vitamin E cream anywhere in Tokyo where the dry winter air has made my regular moisturizer useless. First, this was 30 dollars in Japan but I was desperate (in the US i buy high btu vitamin e cream for maybe 10 bucks). Second, the ingredient list doesn't show Vit. E listed online at all, so it doesn't have a lot in it, if anything. Third, even though it was too expensive in Japan and misleading with what it actually is, my skin does feel nice and more moisturized in Tokyo's dry winter. Make up went on well after applying. However, when I return to the US, I will go back to my cheap real vitamin E cream from the bodega for winter dryness.

Body Scrubs -The Body Shop -Aromatherapy Uplifting Salt Scrub

on 12/7/2018 4:41:00 PM

I really liked this scrub! The salt was just the right consistency of scrubbiness. The fragrance was a beautiful mandarin orange, which so uplifting in the morning. And I liked that it doesn't leave a heavy film behind, like many scrubs. My only gripe is the large jar was unwieldy and not very easy to use in the shower. Still, it's one of the best scrubs I've used.

Shampoo -The Body Shop -Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo

After reading lots of positive reviews for the Ginger shampoos' results on dandruff, I got myself the small size bottle of this from a TBS store, despite not being overly keen on the SLS in this. I gave it about 5 attempts, washing my hair, rinsing and repeating, with no conditioner after so as not to interfere with the effect. Did this every 2nd night but by the 5th time my scalp was not just flakey but actually had sore patches at the back of my head. Something in here clearly does not agree with me which is sad as almost all the reviews online for this are very good overall. Stopped using and within a few days my scalp returned back to its normal state. The search continues...

Foundations -The Body Shop -Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation

on 12/6/2018 8:44:00 AM

This foundation was okay, but I wouldn't buy it again. There are definitely better products in the same price range.

I've been using the shade Kaili Azalea 02 (which an employee helped me pick out) for about two months. The coverage is okay. I'd say medium. It's definitely a matte finish which is great for my oily skin. It really keeps the oil at bay longer than other foundations I've tried and didn't break me out at all. However, if you have any dry patches it will emphasize them. I've definitely noticed that more now that it's winter. It doesn't transfer much. My last foundation came of on everything, but this one stays in place. (Example: I caught cold and was able to blow my nose quite a few times before needing to touch up.)

I use a makeup sponge to apply it. It doesn't layer well in my opinion and starts to get really patchy. It's also hard to blend since it dries quickly. It looks okay at first, but after a five hours or so my pores really become more noticeable, and by the end of my work day it doesn't look so great.

I'd say it's worth trying if you're searching for a matte foundation, but it wasn't the best for me.
