Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Coconut Lip Butter

on 1/22/2017 1:41:00 AM

Well I had really high hopes for this product because it does have some really good ingredients in it and also, its The Body Shop. I'm sad to say that this just didn't work for me, and I think it even left my lips feeling more chapped. Which, I don't know how.

Before I got this I would use a lip scrub followed by lip oil (Yes to Primrose Lip Oil, which is amazing) and Vaseline on top. That would be my night time lip treatment, and let me tell you it worked like a charm! In the morning my lips would feel soft and moisturized and even look fuller. I figured though, why not try a lip butter instead of Vaseline? Something that would have more moisturizing ingredients rather than just plain petroleum jelly. I found this one thinking it would make my lips feel so much better.

Needless to say, I was wrong. In the jar it looks like it would be creamy, but when you put it on your lips it turns to oil. A weird, chalky type of oil. Also, when I wake up in the morning the product is still sitting on top of my lips, rather than being absorbed. And when wiped off I'm left with chapped lips, instead of smooth and supple. I will say one good thing about it, it does have a very delectable coconut scent. Sadly the scent isn't enough to get me to recommend this product, or even want to keep it. I will be returning this one and going back to my Vaseline.

Styling Products -The Body Shop - Brazil Nut Define and No Frizz Styling Cream

on 1/21/2017 6:22:00 PM

Sadly, this product just didn't work for me. I wanted it to be a cheaper version of Fekkai's Glossing Cream, but it wasn't. It was too greasy for that. It gave my hair some slight definition, but that's about it. And I loved the scent, but after a couple of hours my hair smelled dirty. Kinda like fertilizer. I'm giving it 3 lippies because I can see how this might work well on someone with super frizzy, dry hair. I just don't think my hair was right for it.

Treatments (Face) -The Body Shop - Drops of Youth Liquid Peel

I've used this for a week. My skin is feeling and looking so much better. I have combo dry cheeks , oily t zone and textured skin. My main concern are clogged pores and the lady said this would help. It did, my skin is less congested and smoother. It is a brand new product so there were no reviews so i was iffy but im glad i got it. For what it does Its not very expensive $25.

The products itself is liquid, doesnt smell strong at all. Directions say use 2 pumps rub for 20 seconds on face until little balls form. Use 2-3 times a weeks. Make sure your skin is clean and dry as well as your hands before use. After use wash skin throughly.

The first time i used it was like an "Omg moment". I put it mostly where my area of concern is, my cheeks. After rubbing for a few seconds I felt stuff balling up underneath; it felt gross but it shocked me to see so much dead skin and dirt balling up. Mind you I had just washed my face with my facial soap and sponge which is supposed to get rid of all that. But all the stuff that was there was a clear sign that my cleansing wasn't perfect. The little balls were dirty looking dead skin. Maybe some where from my hands as well but I had just done a load of dishes and washed my face so they were clean. I was in shock it was gross. I washed my face and looked in my mirror after. My skin looked brighter, smooth and clear. I did it again right after out of curiosity and the peeling wasn't as bad and the little balls where whiter. I washed with soap and moisturised after and went to bed. The next morning i woke up and my skin look so much better. Less little bumps and smooth texture. I've now used it for a week and my skin its soft, smooth, bouncy and glowing. My clogged pores are dissapearing. Give it a shot its all natural, its not that expensive if you dont like it you can return it. The bottle will last you a long time I'm so happy with it. The packaging is great the dispenser has a lock system. Its a pump so it's hygienic.

Tip: When you pump the product use it immediately in your face, dont leave it laying around because it will dry up and not work properly.

Primer/ Corrector -The Body Shop - All-In-One Instablur 5-Action Perfector

This stuff is bomb. I found it on the body shop website for half price (~$12) and I'm so glad I bought it. I would pay full price for this for sure, which is around $24 cnd. I like how smoothly it goes on and how soft it make my skin while blurring pores very nicely. The consistency is a little weird right out of the tube but after spreading it out with my finger tips it goes on the face pretty well. If you have dry skin this might accentuate dry patches once makeup is applied, this is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. My skin is mostly oily but has the occasional dry patch around the mouth and nose, so I just watch to make sure I don't over apply. If you have oily skin, this works pretty well to mattify everything, although oil starts to seep through on my forhead after a while. Nothing a few spritzs of my UD setting spray can't handle. I'm positive this makes my makeup last much longer than usual too, and keeps everything looking as fresh as when I applied. It really does give that "blurred" appearance. Packaging is a basic squeeze tube which I find great. It's a little on the pricey side as it's a pretty small tube, but I'm so happy with it that it's worth it.
