Cleansers -The Body Shop - Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

I have combination sensitive skin, and use this during the (relativly) cold Norwegian winters. It takes my makeup effectively off, and at the same time provides moisture and makes my skin feel soft and supple. An everyday feeling of luxery!

Treatments (Face) -The Body Shop - DROPS OF YOUTH Bouncy Sleeping Mask

on 9/16/2017 6:30:00 PM

So here's the thing, I like my skincare to be fun. I mean, if it just means slathering stuff on my face every night, I'm going to get over it. I must have at least two jars of night creams loitering in my cupboard - bought with the best of intentions and promptly forgotten about after one or two uses. This however is fun! I think there's a bit of a misconception (possibly as a result of intentionally ambiguous marketing) - I don't think this product is claiming to make your SKIN bouncy, rather it itself is bouncy :-) It's almost like a weird non-Newtonian fluid; very fun to poke. As to whether it works or not, I honestly can't say as I've only been using it for a week or so and I can't see any visible difference. That being said, the giant heavy jar (which I love) and the novelty of the texture means I've been using it almost every night. Weirdly, the more I use it the less sticky it feels and the easier it sinks in... maybe an indication that it's doing something? Probably wouldn't buy it again - want to try the Oils of Life one.

Last thing - I really love the smell! To me it's a luxury fresh white floral.

Last last thing - my boyfriend hates it. Refers to it as the "sticky face" for obvious reasons. I think (as explained above) that this is getting better :-)

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Blueberry Body Butter

on 9/15/2017 9:35:00 PM

One think this is one of the better fruity scents from The Body Shop. Like the reviewer below said, it's not as intense as the classic strawberry one, nor as sickly sweet. It's a tarte berry scent that reminds me slightly of Lush's The Comforter scent. It feels very nice on the skin - rich and moisturizing but not overly so. Probably best for skin on the drier side. My skin feels very smooth and nourished when it's all the way absorbed. Not completely sure how long it takes so sink into the skin, as I only use body butters in the evenings before bed. Despite it being quite rich I find that I somehow go through it relatively quickly. I picked this up on sale, and I would repurchase if it went on sale again. I do find it slightly overpriced with the regular price tag, though. (Or maybe I'm just more of a Lush fangirl and will rather splurge on their body products than The Body Shop's..)

+ Cruelty free (and as of this week no longer owned by L'Oreal but cruelty free company Natura Brasil!!)
+ Vegetarian (contains beeswax)
+ Nice, tarte berry scent
+ Skin feels smooth after use (thanks Shea butter!)

- Though I have no better solution for packaging body butter, I'm not a huge fan of the bulky tub
- Not quite worth the pricetag in my opinion - it's not THAT superior to cheaper body butters

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Moringa Body Milk

I really consider this more as a fragrance than a body care product. This does absolutely nothing else except smell amazing. Thats why I give 2 lipsticks instead of one. Becuase of the smell only. I have the small 60 ml bottle and every time I spread it on I feel absolutely zero improvement in my skin. I dont think I want to use the body shop moisturizers anymore and I stick to Lush handy guguru and other moisturizers which actually work.

Cleansers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Foaming Face Wash

on 9/13/2017 4:46:00 PM

I'm a great fan of the aloe foaming cleanser but wanted to try this one. What a waste of money...
I hoped this was going to clear up my skin but it made it so much worse! My skin gets really dry and then super oily during the day, so much that my pores are clogged and caused acne that I had 20 years ago when I was a teen.
I suspect the Sodium Lauren sulfate in this facewash is the reason why.

I'm a big fan of Bodyshop products but this one is a big fail!
