Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Strawberry Body Butter

on 10/22/2017 9:53:00 PM

I just saw a review pop up of this stuff and realized I should add one. I hope this cream is never discontinued or changed, because it holds so many memories for me. I bought this when I first met my fiancé, and he lives very far away for now. Everytime I smell the sweet strawberry scent it takes me right back to being next to him :) it makes my ultra sensitive skin silky and never irritates me. It seems expensive, but the tub lasts a long time (6 months with occasional use I'd say). It's totally worth it to me and I'll buy this forever.

Masks -The Body Shop - Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask

on 10/22/2017 11:49:00 AM

I’ve stayed away from body shop for awhile because I felt that their quality got worse over the years. So i was super hesitant to try it again but these superfood masks were too hard to resist. I chose the Chinese ginseng mask because my skin looks too dull and tired. Anyway, this product is amazing! After just one use, my skin was noticeably clearer and visibly smoother. The next day, I had a meeting and my foundation glided on effortlessly. Everyone complimented how great my skin was! I would buy this again.

BB Cream -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

on 10/22/2017 12:48:00 AM

Despite a lot of negative reviews, I personally LOVE this bb cream. The Light shade is actually a pretty close match to my skin tone.

The product is somewhat low-medium coverage. Personally, I like lighter coverage bb creams/foundations and I just double up with concealer, but I can see how this can be frustrating if you like higher coverage.

My favorite part has been the product's positive impact on my acne. I have dry skin and typically have some acne breakouts. Besides hormonal/diet-related acne, I have noticed that my acne has decreased, particularly on my forehead, and I'm pretty sure it's because of the tea tree oil in this product.

I saw other reviews mentioned that the product didn't last long. For me, I think the product has good longevity. As I said, I have dryer skin, so that may not be the case for oily skin.

Foundations -The Body Shop - Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation

on 10/20/2017 7:13:00 AM

I was running out my old foundation, Revlon Colorstay Creme Makeup. My skin is very oily and sometimes I have acne here and there, so I was hooked by this product. This foundation promised a matte skin with tea tree oil to treat the skin. It sounds really appealing.
I bought it at The Body Shop official store. The lady at the counter chose shade Japanese Maple. I thought it was too dark for my skin, but she and my friends insisted that it suited me. Then I tried it a bit on my face. It blended well, so I thought it was fine.

At first I tried applying it without primer, and it sunk into my pores, it was horrible! I quickly wash my face and started over using primer.

So what is my opinion?
Well, honestly, I'm disappointed! Even after using primer and loose powder, and even setting spray, it doesn't keep my face matte, even for a mere 2 hours! After 1 hour, my t-zone becomes oily and I have to blot it. I usually only need to blot after around 4 hours when I used my previous foundation.
On the bright side, it doesn't cause breakout. I found it helps treating my acne skin. It also feels lightweight and I can blend it easily using fingers.

Lastly, the other problem is... I found this foundation oxidizing. I was looking at myself accidentaly and, oh my god, my face looked darker than my neck! It was fine in the morning but after three hours, it was horrible!

If you have combination skin, or acne prone skin, and are looking for a lightweight foundation, you can try this one. But if you are oily, I'm not sure.

Foundations -The Body Shop - All-In-One Face Base

I really like this powder. I apply it dry with a makeup sponge and it provides good coverage quickly. I have normal/dry skin and it doesn't leave my skin dry or flaky. my only complaint is that after a while it can settle in my pores and lines but it's not too noticeable. also, they have a pretty good range of shades.
