Toners -Thayers -Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner

on 7/11/2018 11:51:00 AM

I wanted to like this product as I have used witch hazel in the past and not had any issue. I started slowly using only twice a week, by the third week I was having a reaction of cysts and pimples on my neck which is my clue as to a product not agreeing with me. After speaking to a girl at work with sensitive skin, I decided to use it on my chest and shoulders as she does. BIG MISTAKE; after two uses I broke out in a horrible rash that was made up of tiny dots all over my chest, upper back, up my neck and into the lower part of my face and down to my stomach! I had to go to the Dr and get cortisol cream to stop the spread that was like wild fire in just two days after stopping using it. I don't know what's in this product that I react to, but I've never had this happen in my life. I def recommend patch testing this product despite the rave reviews.

Toners -Thayers -Lavender Witch Hazel Alcohol-Free Toner

Usually I use (& adore) Humphrey's Cucumber Melon Witch Hazel toner. However, I saw this toner at a discounted price that wound up being cheaper per fluid ounce than my holy grail, so I decided to give it a shot. It's not terrible I guess... but I didn't realize how much I loved the Humphrey's until now.

I typically use toner right after cleansing my face, to remove trace remnants of makeup that are left over & to balance my skin's pH. This product doesn't do anything to take off lingering makeup though. I know that's not necessarily the purpose of toner, so I didn't take off a lippie for that. It's nice that the Humphrey's one works for that purpose too though.

The smell of this product okay. I'm a huge lavender fan but this scent doesn't appeal to me much. Also, this toner leaves my face feeling sort of dry, even though the formula is alcohol-free.

I like the packaging alright. I like that the ingredients list is simple & natural. But those are about the only pros I can think of. I'll use this up but won't repurchase.

Switched from Dickensons to this because this had a lot of other added ingredients that I️ thought would be nice for my skin. I️ have very oily skin, but I️ do have a routine that controls it very well to the point where I️ can finally go a whole day without blotting and not look like a deep fryer. The Dickenson toner was apart of that routine and worked great but I️ wanted to try this to see if it was better. This left a disgusting film on my skin and I️ do let my toner sink in before I️ continue with my routine. Not only that but it made me look so greasy and required me to blot my skin two hours after use. I️t didn’t make me produce more oil, but the residue left on my skin make me look gross. Sad I️ wasted my money on this, the ingredients in this are wonderful and I’m sure beneficial, but for the price looking like a grease ball isn’t worth it. Buy the Dickenson brand, you get a lot more product for a lot less.

I used to use the on my teens and early 20s and it really helped keep my acne under control. I stopped using it when got into Paula and Beautypedia but lately I've been questioning their advice. Also this product seems to get a lot of love with people with acne prone, dehydrated skin like mine is now. My acne has. gotten pretty bad now in my late 30s. I bought this in desperation last week and its really helped my skin out.
