Loose Powders -T. LeClerc -T. LeClerc Loose Powder

on 7/23/2017 2:43:00 AM

On my 3rd container of Banane. Bought it to replace Bobbi Brown's Pale Yellow loose powder (price kept going up and container kept getting smaller: $40 for 6g is shameful). This container is 25g for $50. Lasts me about a year. I agree the container leaves a lot to be desired. However, I find it charming and assume it's been the same design since 1881. I don't carry it with me on the daily. When I do travel, I take care to reinsert the plastic lid, then a piece of cellophane wrap, then top it with the metal lid and big giant rubber band to make sure it doesn't explode in my travel bag, and we're good to go. I apply it with a big, fluffy brush, over MUFE HD 225, in my tzone and everywhere but the apples of my cheeks. I found a layer of this and a layer of blush was a bit drying at times. No reactions to the vilified talc. I leave the lid off the container once it's in the Muji drawer and had no idea it had a fragrance. I do have sensitive-ish skin but it's more environmental based than cosmetic based.

Liquid -T. LeClerc -Fond de Teint Hydratant

on 11/23/2016 10:58:00 AM

I am in dubio with this foundation, I feel like I should cut it some slack because no. 1 Ivoire is almost my shade (and trust me, almost my shade is a huge compliment when it comes to foundations for me)
The thing is, I don't like the formula. At all. When I put it on with a beautyblender there are patches everywhere, and where I want the formula to stay most (my rosacea and some pimples I had popping up) those were exactly the places where it just wouldn't stay put. This foundation has a light coverage and on perfect bits of skin, it works, it's just such a hassle to make sure it stays in place and doesn't get patchy on me.
Another thing, don't touch it too much, it takes a long time to set.
I feel this foundation also emphasizes dry skin, the skin on between my brows and around my nose are my problem areas and it definitely isn't doing it any favours. It's not showing flakes or anything, but you can just see the texture there and the foundation doesn't blend into the skin at those parts, you can see it sitting on top of your skin.
Overall, I wouldn't buy this again. The price and the iffy formula just don't cut it for me.

UPDATE: I tried using a brush this time to apply and I don't know if it's because it come more in contact with air that way or something but the smell isn't pleasant. I have the same problem as with the beautyblender as with a brush as well, namely, it doesn't stay where I want it to, and moves around almost constantly with a brush.
Also, applying is kind of a hassle overall since the foundation kind of 'pulls' at the skin. You know how when you use a brush and sometimes it pulls your skin when moving it around? Usually with foundations it doesn't really do anything bad, but this foundations seems to want to stick around, pulling the skin even more with the brush than my other foundations do.

I have to say though, after applying the rest of your makeup, like blush and concealer, this foundation looks incredibly good. It clings to dry patches in some bits and you need to fix the patchyness with concealer but after all is set and done (see what I did there?) it does look incredibly natural and smooth. I'm just wondering whether the hassle of applying it and the tackiness of the formula is worth it.

Makeup Brushes -T. LeClerc -Large Powder Brush

on 5/24/2015 8:38:00 AM

Got this free when purchasing the loose powder. Don't know if it is becuz of this brush or the powder, nothing stay on the face. This is the only loose powder brush I got so I can't do any comparison if this is good or not.

After I finish with t' leclerc loose powder, I used this brush with Armani micro fill loose powder. Find nothing wrong with this brush. Soft, and can pick up the loose powder well. But I won't get this one again if I need replacement cuz it's expensive!
