Moisturizers -Sulwhasoo -First Care Activating Serum

on 6/24/2018 11:26:00 AM

A few days after I started using this, a friend commented that I looked somehow brighter, radiant, glowy bla bla bla. Keeping in mind however that this was just a few days after I started using this, I'm not sure how much (if any) of this could be attributed to the serum (maybe it was just the good-skin time of the month). It's been 2 months since, and I do notice that my face is less blotchy/red. The serum itself is quite nice to use - I use it as the first step after cleansing, it sinks in really fast and does not leave any tackiness. It is not moisturising enough on its own so I follow up with a moisturising toner, and oil/gel cream. It is pricey, but the 60ml bottle priced at S$60 has lasted me two months now with twice daily use (I use a single pump each time) and I think will last at least one more not so pricey I think, if your skin likes it. I am already intending to repurchase.

Treatments (Face) -Sulwhasoo -Capsulized Ginseng Fortifying Serum

I don't know if this serum alone works wonders. But what I can tell you is that after using this serum with the ginseng eye cream, my skin is softer, smoother, and brighter. Also, I'm very acne prone but this did not clog my pores or give me any negative side effects. I just wish the price tag was not so steep. Also, I go through this every 2 months when I use it once a day but I do put some on my neck as well. But $200 CAD every 2 months just for 1 product out of the 5 I put on my face? QQ

Sadly I'm a sucker for this product as I haven't found anything cheaper that works as well. Most cheap products end up breaking me out or not doing anything at all which is worse because it's like throwing $$ in the trash. I would rather just save up my measly dollars and purchase this. I just hope that the Canadian dollar goes up so I don't have to pay so much.

Since I love both this and the ginseng eye cream (which although is only meant for eye area, I started using all over my face and it's great!), I've ordered samples from Sulwhasoo timetreasure, snowise, and hamonizen line. If the samples work well then I'll get the full size as I did with this one.

Treatments (Eye) -Sulwhasoo -Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Eye Cream

I just turned 32 and realized that after a close up in the mirror, there were fine lines under my eyes YIKES! Sadly in my teens and 20s, I never used moisturizers let alone eye creams. I have been living in Canada for 20 years now and most of that time was spent in northern Canada and prairies where dry and cold is an understatement. I started suffering from acne when I turned 18 and at the time the treatment for acne meant drying out your skin like crazy with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and other topical medications. Sadly, I never used anything with oil in it or moisturizers for fear that it would clog my pores and cause more acne.

Anyways, so I tried some cheaper eye creams (innisfree orchid eye cream, benton fermentation eye cream) but I saw no improvement after 30 days. I also started to notice a small amount of milia under my eyes.

I went back to the internet and did some research. People raved about this eye cream on Reddit and here so I finally caved. First I ordered samples from ebay and after using 100 samples, I decided to buy the full size. OMG the price is so steep especially right now when the conversion rate of 1 CAD=0.73 USD.

I have to say though that this cream did get rid of the fine lines around my eyes after 60 days. My eye area looks much more youthful in general and I even use it around my laugh lines. If I could afford it I would probably get a big tub of this for my entire body. Also I like the faint ginseng smell.

BB Cream -Sulwhasoo -Perfecting Cushion (Brightening)

on 5/5/2018 7:34:00 AM

I`ve got this in the lightest shade, which is a really good match for my complexion. The coverage is light, hardly close to medium. The finish is dewy, a little too much so for my taste. My skin is combination to oily, so this might be better for me in colder weather, I suppose. For spring this works okay, if I set it with powder, but it starts to break up after 4,5 hours and separate in my T-zone. Which is true of most cushion or dewy foundations in general. It smells of ginseng, a smell I neither like, nor hate. The reason I won`t repurchase is because this is almost 60 bucks, so I`d never spend so much money on a foundation that doesn`t amaze me.

Lip Treatments -Sulwhasoo -Essential Lip Serum Stick

These are simply lovely. Gorgeous depth of color, while still remaining sheer; they last on the lips, albeit not like a lipstick, of course, and the balm is terrific stuff. I was more-than-pleasantly-surprised by the product, to be honest. I'd splurged on it (color 8, soft rose), to find something other than the "usual" balms for daytime. (I'm a devotee of Nuxe's Reve de Miel, for nighttime--unmatched, period.)

I've removed a single lippie for the VERY high price--$35, give or take--and the tube is a bit "girly" for my tastes, but I can't complain about the product at all. It's exactly the consistency and weight I'd hoped for, and as I said, the depth of color took me by surprise--wholly unexpected. I'd thought that the Rose shade would be more like Smith's--but it's almost like a true lipstick. VERY pretty coloring. I liked it so much I've bought another color/shade, and am awaiting its arrival from Korea. ;-)

Will test, and adjust my review in a few months.
