Pressed Powders -Soap & Glory -Kick Ass Instant Retouch Powder

on 7/12/2018 10:48:00 AM

Really like this, I've been having a hard time finding a nice powder to use to touch up during my 12 hour work days that would both calm my redness a bit and make me a little less tired especially under the harsh retail lighting in my shop.. I tried Urban Decay's One and Done Blur on the Run and it was awful.. goopy and blotchy no matter how I applied it and didn't do much to make the tired look any better.. Kick Ass Instant Retouch is a nice light powder that I apply with a small brush I carry with me in my makeup bag, it tones down the redness and seems to lessen my tired lines even in the harsh lighting.. def win.. would be nice if it came with it's own brush but I don't mind having to carry a seperate one..

Body Scrubs -Soap & Glory -Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub

on 7/7/2018 8:11:00 PM

There is this super moisturizing sugar scrubs at the place I get my mani/pedi’s done that leaves your hands/feet so soft for the longest time after using but it costs a fortune to buy from them ($50 CAD for the jar). When I saw the S&G Smoothie I thought why not give it a try? It is not nearly as oily as the one at my salon but it still does a fantastic job of exfoliating and moisturizing my skin. The smell is DELICIOUS! I use a small plastic spatula to scoop a small amount out of the tub and then rub between my hands to evenly distribute it before spreading it on the area I want to exfoliate. I absolutely love this for my feet. It sloughs off all the dry skin and preps my feet for some super emollient cream (like O’Keeffe’s) and then socks to allow it to soak in overnight. This sugar scrub is neither gentle nor agressive, it is just right to get the job done. If you are looking for a yummy scented body scrub, look no further.

Brows -Soap & Glory -Soap & Glory ARCHERY⢠2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil & Brush

After trying many drugstore and high-end eyebrow pencils and liners and after being previously disappointed with Rimmel's eyebrow pencil which was just cheap and made my eyebrows look drawn, I decided to give this middle-range eyebrow pencil a go--I don't know why this is not praised enough but this the best eyebrow liner I have tried so far. The liner is very precise and fills out any blank spots easily with a single stroke and most importantly without looking obvious. I have this in the shade dark chocolate and is perfect for my almost black dark brown eyebrows. This also lasts more than any other brands I have tried which simply get wiped away with sweat and accidental touches. My HG eyebrow liner for now...

Lotions/ Creams -Soap & Glory -Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk

When I recently finished up a bottle of Soap & Glory's Righteous Body Butter Lite, I decided to try the Smoothie Star Body Milk as a replacement. I love the scent of both, so I was ready for a change. The Smoothie Star is a lot more emollient than the Righteous Lite, but not as heavy as the brand's body butters. If you have drier skin, then this one is probably the one you'd want to try. It smells divine, like warm cookies, and it absorbs well. It takes a minute for it to sink into the skin, but once it does it leaves me feeling soft and supple (and smelling like cookies, which is an awesome bonus.) I like the packaging, and it seems like the bottle lasts quite a while considering how much it costs. I don't love this quite as much as the Body Butter Lite, but it is a nice lotion that I will continue to use and perhaps repurchase in the winter time.

Primer/ Corrector -Soap & Glory -One Heck of A Blot Instant Perfecting Power Primer

While this product did not work for me personally, I think that people with oily or combo-oily skin should absolutely try this out. I have dry skin, so a super-mattifying primer probably wasn't the best thing for me to try in the first place, but I am always on the hunt for products to help keep my makeup on and keep it from breaking down. Until i tried this, the most mattifying primer that I'd tried was the one from Becca, but S&G's version blew that out of the water. From the time that I put this on until I took my makeup off I did not get oily in the slightest. With dry skin that is obviously a problem, but I could see this working really well for people with actual moisture in their skin due to how much it counteracts excess oil. On those skin types, I do not think it would be over-drying. It is affordable, easy to find, and the packaging is nice as well.
