Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve -Smith's Rosebud Salve (tin)

Like many others I've tried dozens of lip balms and this is by far my favorite. I didnt believe the hype at first but I have very dry lips and this works instantly. I love the smell, the packaging, and the slight gloss it leaves on the lips. Its super hydrating and worth every penny.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve -Smith's Mentholated Salve

on 8/26/2018 7:55:00 PM

I'm not sure if the one I have is the same thing. It's in a tube form and says "menthol and eucalyptus balm".

It's not super thick as I would have imagined it would be. I bought this to use as a lip balm and it feels quite thin and slippery on the lips. In fact... it's as if i put tiger balm on my lips but far less intense. Doesn't really moisturize the lips... in fact I felt a slight stinging when I used this when my lips were sore / peeling.

I may use the remaining to treat skin itches / bug bites...but I definitely wouldn't repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve -Minted Rose Lip Balm

This is just vaseline with some softening oil and a little perfume in it. You'd be better off with the vaseline, in my opinion. Essential oils are irritating and I don't need them on my face. There is one good thing about this lip balm though and that's the ever so subtle red tint -- eat your heart out, Glossier.

I've tried all three popular Smith's balms and this is how I rank them against each other:

1. Strawberry: unnoticeable color, tolerable scent, best/firmest texture, best formula by a mile thanks to lanolin and beeswax. Love it.
2. Original/Rosebud: unnoticeable color, worst scent, runny texture, mediocre formula. Eh.
3. Minted rose: good color BUT bad scent, runny texture and worst formula.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve -Mocha Rose Lip Balm

on 8/6/2018 8:16:00 PM

This scent does not smell like mocha or vanilla at all. It has a nauseatingly artificial scent. You can actually smell this from outside the tube.

The product itself is nice. Keeps my lips moisturized and soft. I love the fact that it comes in squeeze tube version too so I don't have to dip my fingers into the tin each time.

I do agree that this is pretty pricey for what it is. It’s basically fragranced Vaseline. I bought a couple different scents but I wouldn’t repurchase once I use them up. IMO... you're better off just buying Blistex!!! It's far cheaper and does the job as well....or straight up Vaseline works the same too.

I ended up returning this. I couldn't get used to the smell and it gave me a headache everytime I caught a whiff of the scent.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve -Minted Rose Lip Balm (tube)

As others have said, this is pretty much just scented vaseline. I learned the hard way that I hated how this felt on my lips - it just felt so slippery, and you know how sometimes you just feel like you want to wash your face when it gets oily? It's pretty much the same feeling here.

But even disregarding the feel, this just does absolutely nothing for actual chapped lips. I threw this one out.
