Lips -Revlon -Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Adore

on 7/18/2018 4:18:00 PM

I just love this little balm so much, it's exactly that easy sheer red I've been looking for.

Sheer touch of a pretty pinky/brown red
You can apply it easily without a mirror
Definitely a my lips but better tint that lasts longer than expected
It smells slightly minty
Price is worth it

little glitter particles that aren't too noticeable, but I could do without
The plastic packaging was difficult to get off for some reason

Mascara -Revlon -Volumazing Mascara

on 7/18/2018 1:32:00 PM

I saw this at CVS about a month ago. It was described as infused with Carnauba wax and olive oil, so I decided to give it a try. I've loved a lot of Revlon products over the years, but, I never liked ANY of their mascaras...until now. This stuff is true to it's name. The formula is creamy and glides on my lashes. It gives me very dark, glossy, volumized lashes. I've had no problems with flaking or clumping, but did notice some smudging in the increasingly very hot weather here in Texas! So, I started applying over a lash primer, and oh baby! My lashes look so full, dark and lush! They are soft, not spiky or crunchy. With the primer this mascara lasts all day without smudging. The price is ok, and the packaging is nothing special. But, with the formula being this good, who cares?!

Foundations -Revlon -Colorstay Makeup Normal/Dry Skin SPF 20

This stuff made me look like I had a mask on and it was very unnatural looking no matter how carefully applied. The pump broke after just two uses so it went into the trash where it belonged to start with. A big disappointment and total waste of money. There are many much more affordable drug store products out there!!!

Polishes -Revlon -705 Gray Suede

on 7/15/2018 5:37:00 PM

Love this polish & color. I just used for a mani the other day and it's a lovely nude with a hint more color for my complexion which is perfect. I don't like muddy browns or bright colors on my nails as I prefer white or light pinkish/nudes for mani's. This works perfect and Revlon has always made quality nail polish in my opinion. Pleased.

Hair Color -Revlon -Colorsilk

I speak from experience over the years. If you want your hair to turn out the EXACT color of the hair on picture of the box, you'll need to bleach it first. If your hair is darker than the color of the picture on the box, don't expect a change as color can not lift color. This has a very low developer and is almost a demi formula despite being marketed as permanent. It's mainly color depositing due to the low volume and low amount of lift (if any whatsoever).

Now that I've gotten that out of the way - it's not required to bleach your hair first. Your hair just has to be slightly lighter than the depicted shade in order to get results. So that makes it simple to pick a shade if any of you are struggling.

None of this is a con in my opinion. The trade off is this formula is awesome. Colorsilk doesn't damage my hair - even without Olaplex. And I use Olaplex for nearly everything. With the exception of coppery shades, Revlon was smart enough to formulate the warm shades to have a tiny amount of violet (ash) in the mix so they won't turn out brassy. My favorite is Warm Golden Blonde. If it was literally an orangey shade of blonde I would never touch it again. Most drugstore hair dyes mess that up.

A lot of the blonde shades look bizarre (i.e orangey pink) UNTIL it starts to develop so don't let that scare you. Champagne Blonde turned almost dark purple once oxidized despite starting off a yellowy rosegold hue. I like to use these to tone my hair since the damage is so minimal and the cost is dirt cheap.

I do wish Revlon would include a larger size of conditioner with the set because it's pretty effective. The included conditioner is about 1/4th of an oz and not even enough to cover my roots. I have waist length hair. But at less than $3 a box, I can't complain much.

This is the only box dye I'll ever use. For every other need I go straight to professional salon brands for individual shades. So that's saying a lot that I would continue to use Colorsilk.
