Skincare - Face -POLA -White Shot

on 2/3/2017 7:09:00 PM

Great packaging! I bought it in Japan, and it really works. It works slowly, but you can tell the difference. it contains a lot silicon in it, and that definitively broke me out. had to stop using it. Also, try their Pola white S lotion. It's both anti aging and whiting. That didn't break me out, and the 120ml last a long time.

- good cost performance (about 800 yen for 29ml)
- comes in a convenient, small spray bottle and a cap; easy to keep in purse/bag
- smells nice but not overpowering
- feels cool and refreshing on application; good alternative to face wipes in summer if you wear makeup
- quick and easy to use; just slip into the bathroom/powder room and apply when your face feels oily

- the spray bottle does not distribute the product evenly and the droplets can be fairly big which leaves white marks when it dries; it happens even if you wipe the nozzle after use
- instructions say to spray about 20cm from face and then lightly press with tissue; I found it better to spray onto a tissue and pat it on to avoid the white marks when dried; alternatively, spray onto your hands and then pat onto face
- be careful not to get it in your eyes as the menthol will make them sting
- don't get it on your clothes or the powder will leave white marks
- it reduced the shine on my skin but I wouldn't say it was mattifying; it did reduce the oily feeling on my face though
- it was really hard to find in Japan; I eventually ordered mine through amazon.co.jp

Treatments (Eye) -POLA -Signs Solution Eye Repair

on 8/24/2013 1:45:00 PM

I really want to love this. I do! Especially when it costs me $130 for a measly 18 grams. Meant to be for severe problems.

I don't know if it does much. At least it doesn't irritate my sensitive, eczema skin (even though it contains paraben).

The skin around my eyes do seem more supple and my fine lines lessened but it could also be due to the argan oil I've been using around my eyes lately.

I cannot be sure. I like this though. My dark cycles and dryness seems to be gone. I will need to confirm if it is due to this eye cream.

Description from Pola website:
Recommended for those who are concerned about ageing around the eyes including dryness, dark circles, wrinkles and lack of firmness.

Moisturizers -POLA -B.A. Red Cream

on 8/24/2013 1:38:00 PM

I've wanted to start using products for lines, wrinkles and dryness as I feel my skin is changing and it is high time I start looking into these products.

Most anti wrinkle products causes severe allergic reaction on me so I was glad this was alright during my patch testing in the store.

Overall, this cream is ok but I do not feel like it is doing a whole lot but then again, I don't have wrinkles. It does combat the dryness but I can do the same with argan or jojoba oil.

I will monitor but for now, I don't think this does much and at $200 a bottle, it is way too expensive to maintain!

Description from Pola website:
An abundance of Ursolic Acid Derivative RD has been formulated. The soft cream gently spread over the skin and easily becomes one with it. The high quality oil melts out and completely seals the skin in turn bringing the beauty ingredients into the depths of the skin.

Powder -POLA -Augha Fine Powder Foundation

on 4/6/2013 11:45:00 PM

Yuck! Just a shiny mess. I can see this product on top of my skin, coverage is not great and it is getting shinier by the minute. I tried this out in the hope as it is being touted as similar to my much loved Southern Call Multi protect powder foundation. I had such high hopes yet it is no where near as good a product. Bring back the southern call.
