Scrubs -Peter Thomas Roth -Botanical Buffing Beads

HATED this scrub!!! Where do I even start? First off, this was not scrubby at all, I felt like it did absolutely nothing to exfoliate my skin. Since it didn't exfoliate, I started breaking out. Now I hadn't broken out in MONTHS, and then this comes along and ruins that. As another reviewer previously pointed out, there is very little "botanical" in this very chemical scrub. Also the packaging on this sucked. I couldn't control how much product came out! So I either got too much or too little. UGH. I expected so much more from PTR.

Masks -Peter Thomas Roth -Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

foto

I have been using REN’s Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask as my “peel” and while I’ve enjoyed it because it leaves my skin glowing, I wanted to try something a bit difference.

This mask is the color of canned pumpkin, and smells like it, too. It comes in a giant tub. It has a jelly like consistency and interspersed are tiny microdermabrasion crystals. I put a little dollop on my face and within seconds, it burns a little and feels warm (more so if I have used retinoids or lactic acid recently). I leave it on for about five minutes, then gently scrub, taking advantage of the crystals, for an additional minute. Then I rinse off and my skin looks clean, radiant, even-toned, and GLOWING! I like to use this twice a week, usually before I want to look my best!

I got this at Costco.com for around 35 bucks and was astonished by the size. Seems weird that a face mask is so generously sized at FIVE ounces. I swear, this thing will last me years. I have been using it twice weekly for three months and the jar could still pass off as unused! You only need a half grape sized dollop for your whole face. This makes the mask an EXCELLENT value.

Masks -Peter Thomas Roth -Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask

I am done using more than half of the product in this tub. The mask is in the form of a gel and smells like roses. No surprises there.
As a 15-minute-leave-on-mask, I do think that this mask is not very effective. I have sensitive and dehydrated skin and putting this mask on for 15 minutes does nothing for me in terms of hydration. My skin still feels dehydrated. However, when I use it as an overnight mask by applying a thin layer of it on my face, the mask works magically and the effects are obvious. My skin just feels and looks hydrated and healthier. I have been using it for a while now and I do think it helps with evening out the skin tone. Also, I find that the results of applying this mask are better when I use it in conjunction with the Pumpkin Enzyme mask. So, after exfoliating using that mask, I apply the Rose Stem Cell mask overnight.

Treatments (Face) -Peter Thomas Roth -Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads

This is without a doubt a holy grail. Why? Because my 40-year old skin responds to a lack of use with dry skin, clogged pores, wrinkles and dullness. I ran out of these some weeks ago, thinking, they don't make such a BIG difference and there are alternatives (Advanced Night Repair, Vichy Serum, The Ordinary Serums, Mario Badescou Enzyme Gel, etc.).
Boy was I wrong! I recently had my photo taken with colleagues: My skin didn't look as nice as it usually does, rather lifeless, although I had taken the same effort to do my makeup. The pads seem to polish the top layer of my skin like nothing else and moisturize intensely at the same time. I believed Potion 50 by Biologique Recherche to do the same but it rather dried out my combination skin. If you are looking after a dramatic difference, this is it: I use it every other night, it keeps my pores as small as possible and hydrates like nobodies business. A cheaper alternative that comes close is Ordinary's Peeling Solution Mask (AHA 30%) but these pads are way easier to use.

Treatments (Eye) -Peter Thomas Roth -Retinol Fusion PM Eye Cream

I love me some PTR, but I don't really see the point of this product. It's a slightly pricy eye cream that hasn't done much for me, as far as I can tell. Granted, my issue isn't wrinkly eyes (though I do have some when I smile) but dark circles - which I suppose retinol isn't going to help. Anyway, it is 1% retinol, so with that proven ingredient, it should help treat/prevent wrinkles around your eyes. The consistency is a very thick cream which is also kind of dry at the same time. Not the most ideal feeling eye cream either.
