Primer/ Corrector -Peter Thomas Roth -Skin To Die For No-Filter Mattifying Primer & Complexion Perfector

I'm on the fence about this one a bit. I am not wild about most primers, because some make my face feel hot or uncomfortable for a while. (Still trying to figure out what I might be allergic to.) This one, happily does not irritate my face. It does a nice blurring job and makes a good canvas for applying makeup on top of it. My pores look a bit smaller, too, and I need very little of this. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin either, which is nice. Some primers make me feel "coated," for lack of a better word to describe it.

I notice no scent or anything either. It's ivory/beige colored rather than a clear or milky-looking primer, but it spreads out and leaves no tint on my light neutral skin. It's a tiny bit pricey, but again, you don't need a lot. I can't say whether it will actually make my skin look better over the long haul, like the packaging says, that 28 days of use will make for some kind of improvement. (I'm working from a generous sample here, and haven't purchased.) But I'm putting this on my "when it comes time to buy a new primer this will definitely merit another look, and if I have a Sephora coupon, I may just break down and buy it" list. We'll see, however.

Skincare - Face -Peter Thomas Roth -Instant FIRMx

First, I was one of those ladies who fell for the high pressure pitch for lioness pearl facelift cream. (See my review) It really did reduce my bags and lines. Other similar products include instantly ageless, and sudden change. All work similarly, by tightening the loose skin around the eye socket thus eliminating the shadow that causes dark circles under the eye. But I didn’t want to order overpriced product online (ranging from just over 100$ to 700$) so off to Ulta I went in search of something reasonably priced that produced similar results. Found this and purchased the small sample for 9$. Wow. I like it better than the 130$ lioness product! First, you need just a pea sized amount. Wet fingertips and apply all over face. Wait about 3 minutes. If you see white residue, you’ve used too much or you didn’t spread it thin enough. Face feels tight and at first a little plasticy (think Donatello Versace shiny). But it softens up quickly and looks natural enough to go sans makeup. It reduced pores, eliminates bags and most wrinkles and reduces the crevices of deep wrinkles to a minimum. Do not add liquid makeup...foundation (if needed) should be a mineral powder and powder blush and shadow. You could probably add spot concealer if needed. Lasts all day, I would probably reapply at night if I was going out. I will definitely repurchase the larger tube. But even the small tube is a good value. Worth trying and experimenting, especially if you have been intrigued by all the instant facelift products that are popping up on Facebook. I wear very little makeup but this would be a staple in my everyday routine.

Toners -Peter Thomas Roth -Glycolic Acid 10 Toning Complex

I marked the price as 2 out of 5 (5 being expensive) because I found this product at TJ Max for less than $20.00. It's a huge bottle so it'll last a long time. I tried this for the first time and noticed a prickly feeling, as if I was being stuck by needles all over the area I applied it. I applied it on my face and neck. MISTAKE! This stuff burned my neck! It was red for days! I didn't notice it do anything out of the norm for my face (thankfully). I am writing this review prematurely in that I can't give a full review on it, however, I wanted to write and give a heads up to anyone on what might possibly happen to them if they apply it on their neck.

Cleansers -Peter Thomas Roth -Water Drench Cloud Cleanser

I hated this cleanser. I bought it because I am a fan of PTR's products, they have a lot of great stuff. But this foaming cleanser was not good for my combo-oily skin. I found that it doesn't rinse off thoroughly, leaves a filmy residue, and clogs my pores.

Not a winner for me and I wouldn't buy it again.

Masks -Peter Thomas Roth -Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

I am a everyday masker with combination oily acne prone skin. My first impression of this product was it’s amazing pumpkin pie scent that literally smells good enough to lick off, lol.
Secondly, the texture is great. Perfect for exfoliation. When I finished applying it it had a tiny bit of tingle to it, which I love. Don’t let that tingle word scare you, it’s nothing intense. Its actually quite nice and feels as though it’s working, IMO.
After sitting for 5 minutes I rinsed and I instantly felt a big difference. My skin was amazingly soft, like my one year old daughters bottom soft! Even my husband who doesn’t really notice anything said I looked as if I was glowing!
Since then I have been using this mask 2x per week (and I would use it more if manufactures directions didn’t discourage it) and I continue to see and feel results each time. Now I keep it on for 10-15 minutes and see wonderful results.
Many people comment on the price tag of this mask. So I want to touch on that quickly. It is definitely pricey. BUT the jar will last you a VERY long time. I will be repurchasing when I run out.
I would recommend this and several other PTR masks to everyone!
