Dry Shampoo -Not Your Mother's -Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo

This stuff is truly awful. It gets rid of 0 oily at the roots but leaves your hair like you have product in it. I would never purchase this again.

Hair -Not Your Mother's -Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream

on 10/9/2018 4:00:00 AM

I think this smells amazing, so to each his own. However, don't be fooled by the grape seed extract and jasmine on the label. They are at the very end of the list of ingredients, meaning there is very little of them in the actual product. I think they would work more like preservatives. I picked this up because one of my favorite curly haired celebrities mentions she uses this product and her hair always looks great. I also have the Trevor Sorbie curl cream, so I may try both at the same time for a cocktail, but I think the smells might clash. I would recommend this product because it gives soft curls and helps define my curls. The price is also decent.

Styling Products -Not Your Mother's -She's a Tease Volumizing Hairspray

on 8/21/2018 1:26:00 PM

I have the She's a Tease hairspray in the aerosol can and the pump spray bottle. Both work about the same. This has a perfumey scent that does not linger in my hair. This is a light hold hairspray and does not help hold my fine, dry hair at all.

Styling Products -Not Your Mother's - Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

I have ultra thin, fine hair. This did give it body, in a terrible way - sticky and pouf-y, very matte (which is what the bottle says, so at least there is full disclosure). No waves, just frizz. I had better luck with Verb sea texture cream (don't love the smell of Verb, and it lingers, but it does not weigh down my thin and fine hair).

Dry Shampoo -Not Your Mother's -Plump for Joy Body Building Dry Shampoo

I usually use Plump for Joy in combination with NYM Clean Freak to give a little extra volume on my non-wash days, especially when I wear my hair wavy. It doesn't add a ton of volume, but it is very lightweight, so it doesn't reduce the volume that's already there. I like this a lot to give my hair a little bit of grab or texture to hold onto the style, if that makes sense. I use it more in the lengths of my hair with Clean Freak nearer the scalp to help hold or revive the wave that I lose while sleeping. The scent is nice and fresh, but it doesn't last very long, which to me is a plus. I probably couldn't get away with using this as my only dry shampoo as I don't find that it controls oil as well as the Clean Freak, but it is a solid product that I will repurchase when I finish off the can that I have.
