This is a miracle for me. I have genetically weak, peeling nails, especially after two rounds of Accutane a few years ago, and I’ve tried all manner of strengtheners/hardeners for my nails. This is the ONLY item that’s lived up to its promises. My nails aren’t peeling at all, and in the month I’ve used it, only one nail has broken. I use it as directed - a layer of Xtra, two layers of nail polish, a layer of Xtra, then an additional layer of Xtra every day or every other day. My nails are growing now and look normal. This stuff is a holy grail for me, for sure! I’ve already repurchased so I don’t run out. It’s especially cheap when Ulta.com runs their 20% off sales.

This didn't work for me. I used it for a few weeks and it made my nails peel more than ever. When I had it on with polish and topcoat over it it seemed like my nails were a bit stronger but I still had some breakages at the edges of my nails. The brush is just absolutely unworkable. The actual brush is not attached to the cap; it's instead attached to a piece of rubber that is jammed into the cap. This piece of rubber came unattached from the cap, and every time I opened the bottle the whole cap and brush came out. It was extremely frustrating to have to pull the piece of rubber off and then jam it back into the cap so I could apply it.This product also absolutely reeks. I'm prepared for nail treatments to smell terrible but this is an extra special kind of stink.I wanted to love this stuff so much, and I was so disappointed with it. So many other people have gotten such wonderful results from it and it just flopped for me. Probably something about my body chemistry, but it definitely makes this a no-repurchase product for me.

My sister and my mom have been using this for years, and they have lovely nails. My nails peel and shred the second they grow past the tips of my fingers. I finally decided to try it out for myself and I'm blown away! My nails have NEVER been this long. I can actually get them into the almond shape that I have only achieved with acrylics. I feel so glamorous! I know I should follow the directions on the box, but I have protein deficient nails and hair, so I know my nails can take a daily dose of protein. Every night before bed I apply a coat onto my nails, wait for it to dry, then use my hand cream. It's become my favorite bedtime ritual. After a week, I take it all off with a non-acetone remover and lay down 2 coats of the nailtek. I'm so delighted with this product it's definitely my ride or die nail product. I highly recommend for anyone with soft peeling nails.

I handle a lot of papers in my job, which is the equivalent of using blotting film on my hands and cuticles continuously for hours on end, so I need a hand treatment that moisturizes without leaving a greasy residue. This does exactly that - it's amazing how quickly it sinks in! I only use it at work - it's not quite as moisturizing as my HG Vaseline Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Lotion (which would leave oily spots all over said papers).

I have soft fingernails. It's genetic. I used to use OPI's Nail Envy as a basecoat for my polishes because it does not yellow my nails, but chipping was always an issue. Plus, it is expensive and gets gloopy about halfway through. So, I tried this, after reading some ladies use it as a basecoat. I was apprehensive about the formaldehyde, just FYI.In the first weeks, it was great. My color stayed put. But then, my nails started peeling, which has never happened in my life. The layers start splitting at the ends, and then, what's the word....shedding? Think of an onion. It is like that. Plus, it was staining my nails yellow, and it is expensive. Terrible!I tried CND stickey basecoat, and again, the first few weeks were great, and the color stayed put. But then, that teal blue color of the solution started to show up on my nails as a stain. I don't think this happens to everyone, though. Now, I use Seche Vite basecoat, because I love the topcoat. Chipping happens a little, but i change color every couple of days. Plus the basecoat does not have formaldehyde, does not yellow or damage my nails, it is easily available, and the price is good.
