NYX is a cosmetics company founded in 1999 in Los Angeles by Toni Ko. Named after a Greek goddess, the company's first products were jumbo eye pencils sold to beauty professionals only. The cosmetics were marketed as "high-end quality meets drugstore prices".They expanded quickly and in 2014 Ko sold the company to L'Oreal. Brick and mortar NYX stores were introduced in 2016. NYX cosmetics are available worldwide, and they remain headquarted in Los Angeles, CA. (Source: Wikipedia)

Lip Liners -NYX - Retractable Lip Liner (all shades)

I should start this off by saying that I absolutely adore NYX. They are killing the drugstore makeup game. But sadly I just don't like this lip liner. I bought it in the shade Dark Red to wear with my NYX Snow White lippie. It's a lovely color, and it really stops lipstick from bleeding or feathering. However (and this is the deal breaker for me) unless I over-balm my lips, this product drags across my lips terribly! And it breaks, even though I don't use a lot of pressure when applying it. I just bought it about a month ago, and have only used it about 5 times, yet I'm almost down to the end of it because it keeps breaking off. I find that unacceptable! I will stick to NYX's slim lip pencils, as I'm never dissatisfied with them.

Good product. Great price. Don’t go wasting your money on some expensive powder. This one does the job.

Lips -NYX - NYX Slip Tease Lip Oil

HOLY GRAIL BATMAN I love this lippie. I own this color in WOKE UP LIKE DIS and it makes me feel PRETTY. Like others have stated, this is basically Lip Lingerie (but better). It has more of a thin, oily, whipped texture and goes on very lightly. Its better to build up little by little to desired opacity with these to avoid patchiness. I bought Fire Dancer previously and returned it to Ulta because it was a little patchy, but I'm certain upon reading reviews it was my fault for the patchiness and I wish I hadn't returned it so quickly. I apply it with my finger tip little by little and blend it really well. This gives me huge full lips and causes a "blotted" effect which I LOVE. Probably going to treat myself to more colors this week tbh.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX - Shine Killer

on 10/18/2017 11:18:00 AM

I’m genuinely surprised to see such negative reviews of this! I personally really like it.
It’s a standard clear silicone primer that makes your skin feel really smooth. I find foundation applies really nicely over it.
As far as extending make up wear time, I do notice a difference when I use this versus no primer. It allows my make up to wear evenly, as opposed to no primer where my forehead would break down very quickly with oils and my cheeks appear dry (thank you combo skin). Instead this helps control the oiliness and the breakdown of foundation, and also diminishes the dryness of other areas.

Brows -NYX - Micro Brow Pencil

on 10/17/2017 2:35:00 PM

i've been using makeup for years, but just recently got into doing my brows routinely a few weeks ago. i've sporadically tried other brow products in the past but never really like the results enough to continue doing it on a daily basis. however, ever since i started using this product, i've been hooked. the fine point on the pencil makes it super easy for a brow novice like me to fill in the sparse tail end of my brows as well as filling in the rest of my brow to make my brows look related to one another. the price point is just right ($9.99 at ulta, but they run NYX deals all the time). it doesn't smudge or fade through my days or 12 hour shifts at work. easy to remove. doesn't cause any breakouts. i'm so happy with this product that i would happily repurchase over and over again.
