Lipstick -NYX -Lip Lingerie

on 12/12/2017 1:56:00 PM

I am a fan of these lip colors, and have already gone back to purchase more. There a couple things I love about these lip colors and a couple things I don't- so depending on your tastes you may love or hate these (it seems people are really in or out with this product!!)

What I love- the shades are amazing. My nieces were visiting and started looking through my ,make-up. They put these on their lips...they died over the colors (apparently one of them looked a girl from Riverdale's shade!!!) The next day they both bought a couple of shades. They mix so beautiful too, so don't feel confined to what's in the tube- layer a couple of shades. Amazing.
They are a good price. If I can get a good lipcolor for 10 bucks or so I am happy. They go on smooth so you don't need to use a lot, these tube will last you.
I also feel they have a pretty good wear time. Maybe not all day, but I get a few hours out of them pretty easily.

What I don't love; the doe-foot applicator is just a NO! It's way to big for the product (pulls a ton out of the tube) and way too floppy to get a good line on the lips. I usually use it to get the color on, then use my finger or a small brush to distribute the color on the whole lip.
They can be a little drying. To me this is a drawback but not a deal breaker. I have a BITE lipcolor stick and it is so dry- I mean, sooo dry- I realize that the drying tends to sort of seal the product and make it last and is pretty common with long lasting mattes of all brands. There's a couple easy fixes for this- either swipe a very light coat of balm under your application, or use a little gloss or shine just on the center of the lips after the color has 'set' (about 5 minutes). I prefer the second of the two, as I like using a lipliner and then letting the color really stick to my lips.

Overall, I bought one...then went back for another, then went back for a third color. I currently have Urban Decay, Make-Up Forever and Bare Mineral matte lip colors that all go on very similar. This really feels like an equal to those products- I just wish the applicator were a little more on point!

Concealers -NYX -HD Photogenic Concealer Wand (All Shades)

on 12/12/2017 7:55:00 AM

Not a fan. It's not the worst concealer I've had but it just doesn't work for me. It looks okay at first but ends up being all chalky and just meh. Plus I bought the wrong shade, so I'll be able to use it only in summer.
I like the Sephora brand High Coverage Concealer wand a lot more but it's quite expensive for a concealer so I was hoping to find something cheaper... I'll have to keep looking.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX -Makeup Setting Spray - Matte Finish

on 12/12/2017 1:45:00 AM

I am a bit surprised by the low rating for this product. For me it works quite well. It sets my make-up, creates a long lasting matte finish as promised. It is also absorbed quickly.

For the price, I'd say it goes beyond the expectations.

Eye Shadow -NYX -Hot Singles Eye Shadow (new formulation)

I bought two of these because there was a sale going on at Ulta and the colors/packaging drew me in. I got these in "Bad Seed" (red) & Epic (purple). I did use another one in a gray shade a long time ago but I cannot remember what the name was.

I swatched them both, not very good but you can't always judge by a swatch on the arm.

I've been using Epic for quite some time but it's kind of difficult to apply. I always use eye primer but this requires applying it to the eye at least 3 times. It's very sheer and I didn't care for it. :/ it ended up going in the trash.

All in all, the packaging is cute but it's not worth the money and the color payoff isn't that great.

I'm going to try to use "Bad Seed" and give an update, but I don't have high hopes for it.

Other -NYX -Pro foundation mixer

I've only tried the white mixer so far. I really do like it- It's great being able to choose a formula and match it to me (within reason, of course) instead of buying a foundation I don't *love* just because it came in my colour. I hasn't affected my foundation performance or staying power at all either, although I'm only about a half a shade to a shade too pale for my teint miracle foundation so I don't have to use too much of the white mixer. I'm not sure if it would be different trying to bring a foundation up/down more than that, though. It can be a little difficult to blend with more dewy foundations, I always have to check that it is *all* mixed in, but it's not anything crazy.
