The cosmetics were marketed as "high-end quality meets drugstore prices".They expanded quickly and in 2014 Ko sold the company to L'Oreal. Brick and mortar NYX stores were introduced in 2016. NYX cosmetics are available worldwide, and they remain headquarted in Los Angeles, CA. (Source: Wikipedia)

Lip Liners -NYX -Slim Lip Pencil - Peekaboo Neutral 860

on 12/17/2017 8:11:00 AM

My HG lipliner. Always out of stock. The perfect nude pink, not too light, not too dark, not too brown...defines my rather thin lips nicely... The color goes well with my favorite lipsticks and it lasts all day. Me: NC15-NC20 with pigmented lips.

Lips -NYX -Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm

on 12/17/2017 8:02:00 AM

This is a very close dupe for MAC's 'Kinda Sexy' (which was always my signature day to day lippie). I own both and I don't feel like I need to repurchase the latter when this one is a fraction of the price. I have no problems with the formula, it's a creamy matte, doesn't dry my lips (barely even feel it, it's so lightweight), needs to be reapplied after a few hours (particularly after eating), but I'm okay with that. The color is a warm peachy-rose nude on my lips. I'm NC15-NC20 with warm undertones, brown hair + eyes, this makes for a perfect MLBB shade. I pair stockholm with Nyx lipliner in 'peekaboo neutral', love this combo for day to day.

Highlighters -NYX -Strobe Of Genius Holographic Stick in Mermaid Armor

on 12/17/2017 1:56:00 AM

Mermaid armor is a white stick with pink mauve shiny color in it. U can make it more mauve pink or white mauve pink depending how much you blend it. It goes smoothly on the skin(with a brush or fingers). It stays on fairly long on the skin. It goes well with: pink, mauve, magenta, purple blushes. This one goes well for day time. Love it!

Contour -NYX -Highlight & Contour Pro Palette

on 12/16/2017 7:07:00 PM

I'm surprised this palette isn't getting more love. I have both this and the Kat Von D Shade+Light, and find them almost identical. This one actually has more colors, including a shimmery highlighter and an orangey bronzer-type color. The NYX palette cost me $18 Cdn (on sale) and the Kat Von D was $61 Cdn. I find them equally pigmented, and both have quite a bit of powdery fallout.

None of the highlighters except the shimmery one in the NYX kit show up well on my pale skin. The yellow shades are identical, and I actually like the pink better in the NYX because it is lighter.

As for the contours, I've swatched them side by side and three of the contour shades are identical. There is a cool toned taupe, a slightly deeper brown with more gold, and a dark brown.

The one area where the Kat Von D might win is with medium skin tones, because the pink and salmon highlighters would actually show up, and the NYX highlighters might be too light.

Overall for the price I recommend the NYX if you have light skin.
