Concealers -NARS -Radiant Creamy Concealer

on 3/23/2018 9:38:00 PM

After spending the coin on concealers I never ended up liking, I thought I should pick this up. I bought ginger which is described as medium with golden undertones but I would say it’s an un-neutral mix of golden and pink, maybe like a peach undertones. I have olive tan skin and this colour blends in seamlessly, he formula is amazing in coverage an the natural almost luminous finish it gives. It sets well with the minimum amount of creasing (most concealers make me crease like crazy) and it doesn’t oxidize. It’s very easy to blend but if you’re using a beauty blender you should know it’s gonna EAT the concealer. I suggest blending with your fingers first to spread the product evenly and then going over with a few taps from the Beauty blender, this is how you get max coverage with minimum amount of product.
It doesn’t break me out, it doesn’t slip and slide on my oily combination skin. In gives amazing coverage for hyper pigmentation even when I don’t use a corrector and ugh I just love it.
I don’t care for the price because it is worth it and lasts a long time I don’t care spending around 39$ for a concealer that gets the job done because I’m paying for the ingredients, formula, luxe packaging... I would highly recommend for all skin types and I there is no way you can’t find the right shade-I can choose between 4 different shades for undereye+cc+face shade (ginger, macademia, sucre d’orge and caramel) and not one. Keep coming up with more shades nars 👏🏽

Blush -NARS -The Multiple in Malibu

on 3/22/2018 3:00:00 PM

I've bought this multiple stick because I wanted something practical to take with me on vacations. Since it theoretically can be used as a blush, lipstick and eyeshadow, I gave it try!

Well, it is just a 'meh' product to me. As a lipstick, I think it's terrible - at least the color was horrible for my skin tone, and my lips got instantly dry and chapped. As an eyeshadow, it's not that pigmented so you have to apply a super thick layer to make it look as pigmented as a regular compact eyeshadow.

As a blush/bronzer, it's not that bad, but it does not give the "extra glow" I was expecting from it. It's not very easy to blend in, and by the time you do it, the color of the blush has already vanished. After using it for a few times during my trip I eventually got tired of it because it didn't make my make up look as glamorous as it does when I'm wearing a regular compact blush/bronzer, so I ended up buying a compact blush during my trip because I was having a compact blush craving.

I definitely think this is way too expensive for what it offers and I'd definitely not buy it again.

Foundations -NARS -Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

on 3/21/2018 7:40:00 PM

I have combo to oily skin depending on the season. Normally I wouldn't buy any foundation with the finish being radiant, much less buy one with the actual word radiant in the title. I decided to give this ago because of the good reviews is was getting, even from people with oily skin. Originally I bought the shade Vienna which was one shade to light for me, but was still able to wear without it looking odd. One first impression I loved the coverage it gave, I would say it is a medium plus coverage and very build able. I have acne scars and some hyper pigmentation, and this foundation covered this up with no problem. Since I have combo/oily skin I did use a benefit porefessional, which is my HG primer, and also baked on my t-zone which is my oily zone. It all looked really good and liked the finished I got. I did start getting oily on my nose pretty soon after application about the 2 hour mark. This never really happens with other my normal foundations I use, I also started to notice it started to look cakey on and around my nose, I found myself having to blot at the 2 hour mark, which I never have had to do before, at least not this soon after application.
After the first impression I got a sample or the color Fiji, which is my shade, in fact I have never had a foundation match me so perfectly before, for this exact reason I really wanted this foundation to work for me. I have tried various time to wear this foundation using different mattifying primers, and the result is the same around the 2 hour mark I start to see oil seeping through on my nose first then my forehead, and I notice that it starts to look cake on and around my nose.
This foundation really has a beautiful finish to the face, and does not feel or look cakey on the face. Color range is really good. My problem is that it starts to make my oils seep through way too quickly, within 2 hours of application, which I have never had a problem with before if I used a mattifying primer. That is the only reason I cannot wear this foundation, I need something that is going to keep me matte for a lot longer than 2 hours.

Palettes -NARS -NARSissist Wanted Cheek Palette Vol II

I won't repeat my reasons to purchase or the joy that this and the other items of the Wanted collection brings, nor any descriptions about the palette, please see my review of the other cheek palette for that stuff. I pretty much got this because there's two palettes in the collection and I would be forever lemming to complete the pair.
This palette is aimed towards those with darker complexions, with darker tones and a bit more richly pigmented. I'll admit I haven't really gotten "into" this palette because I only need to touch my brush to the pan to pick up some color, and have to be light handed and use caution when applying it so I don't have an obvious spot of color. Not good for my fair to light skin tone if I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing, which is most days. But carefully applied they all give a flush of rich color, and as a little goes a long way, I need to update my will and ask to be buried with these so I can attempt to pan them in the afterlife.
I think this is a good choice for anyone looking for a curated collection of fresh, bright blushes to get more shades in a skimpy collection. From my POV with fair light skin tone, this will fill the desire to play with and wear bold colors. I can see myself reaching for this more so the evening or on days when I just want a bright pop of color. And again, just like the vol I one, it works well as an eyeshadow, I think the few full faced looks I’ve seen using this are simplistically beautiful and fresh.

Palettes -NARS -NARSissist Wanted Cheek Palette Vol I

I am absolutely head over heels in love with the wanted eye palette and just had to have this!
The palette itself is very similar to its little sister Wanted eye palette, slightly smaller in size than the cheek studio palette (the only one I can compare it to, I fear I missed out for good on the unfiltered II cheek palette that would IMO be best.) A little tricky to open as well, just like the eye palette. At a total net weight of 0.78 oz., it is still under $1.00 US per 1/100 of an ounce, and less expensive per pan than a NARS blush single. No outer mirror to collect fingerprints, I plan to store it in the box to keep the (printed-on?) graphics looking new.
Aimed towards fairer skin tones, all of the shades apply slightly sheer but are definitely more pigmented than the cheek studio palette blushes and look fresh. Even the brightest/most intense shade, crave, a matte bright coral looks pretty (I use foundations fair-light). I have used shade "crave" on my cheeks and using shade "buzzed", a "matte coral" as an eyeshadow, a look inspired by reviewers of the unfiltered palettes where they did a full face with the palette, and like it so much that I plan to do this more often. If I were to pick a least favorite, it would be the shade unlimited, a shimmery pale pink - I already have similar (think Becca). I have been liking NARS' blusher formulas found in this and the cheek studio palette because they never apply poorly on my dry skin or clash with the dewey look I can't avoid no matter what kind of foundation I try due to the heavy skin creams I use.
I think this would be nice for anyone who doesn't have a lot of blushers and are looking for a nicely packaged grouping of shades to add to their collection. I have fallen victim to the recent trend of warm palettes and think this is the answer to my need to find complimentary blush shades.
