Palettes -MILANI -Bold Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette

on 1/21/2019 9:08:00 AM

I bought this eyeshadow palette after watching youtubers rave about it. I must say that it does not disappoint. Theres a multitude of looks that you can create with this palette ranging from mattes, shimmers, to chunky glitters.

The shades are performed nicely, all of them were opaque and none were chalky to say the least. With a primer or on a wet brush, the shades really picked up a much better (enhanced) color payoff. There are however several shades that have quite a bit of kick back, but nothing too excessive. The palette also comes with an amazing mirror which makes it a great on-the-go for travels that you know would work palette. The packaging in itself is sturdy and well built, something of a surprise considering this is drugstore.

I would rate it a 4.5/5 lippies, since for a drugstore product, this is relatively up there in price!

Blush -MILANI -Rose Powder Blush - Romantic Rose

You don’t know how valuable a good blush is until you find the right one. I have a heavy hand so I have to be extra careful with applying blushes. This one doesn’t require that much skill in application though. This is a soft color that looks very natural. My skin color is NC30 and this looks fab with my mauve shade lipstick. Highly recommended!

Mascara -MILANI -Big and bigger lashes

Not impressed. Formula has rich pigmentation, isn’t sticky, and washes off easily. That’s it though. I can tell my lashes look darker but otherwise little impact. No noticeable boost in volume, length, or curl. Finish is flat, not glossy. Mascara easily gets crumbly. Brush design is poor. Rubber with very short bristles and a strangle, useless hourglass shape toward the top. Definitely pass on this one.

Bronzers -MILANI -Tiger Bronzer

I randomly found this in one of y favorite-lists. It sure was no favorite though: it smelt like carotene, was chunky glittery and transferred pretty bad. Plus, the glass packaging managed to break off a part f the plastic lid. This was probably one of the purchases that showed me that some really old products that were once considered good aren't good any more compared to other, newer things on the marked.

Pressed Powders -MILANI -Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Face Powder

I originally tried this when it first came out a year or two ago. I ordered off amazon and ended up throwing it away as it had literally no pigment! I'm guessing I just recieved a bad one. I recently bought this from my local drugstore again and absolutely love it. I have oily looking skin that actually is very dry and dull. This sets my makeup without looking heavy or chalky. It gives the perfect amount of illumination, that lit from within look. I will add that my skin didn't get super oily for literally hours, which is insane for me. I am usually oily within minutes.
