The Maybelline Company was created by a 19-year-old entrepreneur named Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line. Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline Cake Mascara, ""the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use"" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic

Liquid -Maybelline -Superstay 24HR Full Coverage Foundation

on 2/19/2018 4:07:00 PM

I like the ease in which this product applies. I also like the coverage level. I usually use the Kat Von D Lock it Foundation so I tend to go for pretty high coverage foundation. This one isn't quite as high, but it's medium to full. It's buildable. What I like most is that it lasts. I wore it a full twelve hour work day at hospital with no issues, so I will definitely buy again

Highlighters -Maybelline -Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter, Molten Rose Gold

on 2/19/2018 3:04:00 PM

Full disclosure: I'm a rose gold junkie; if it's rose gold, I at least consider buying it. Now, as a fair person, neutral leaning cool, I look better in the lighter, rosier end of the spectrum; once it veers into copper territory, I'm out.

I also have a lot of highlighters; I jumped on that bandwagon with a vengeance a couple years ago; for example, I have several Wet n Wild limited edition highlighters, Becca SSPs, ABH Moonchild and Aurora (also a fool for iridescence), a couple of Sleek palettes, several random brands. Oh, and the original Carli Bybel and Golden Sugar Makeup Revolution, both of which are basically rose gold. But, the rose golds in these aren't really highlighter shades on me, too dark/orange and/or glittery.

So when I saw this at the drugstore, I thought, "Oh man, I don't need another highlighter, " (or any more makeup), but kept thinking about it. The only review here was for the Molten Gold. So when a local store had a 30% off coupon, I went for it.

The texture is lovely; soft yet dense and buttery, glowy without being glittery, and melds into the skin without disappearing. In short, pretty much exactly what I wanted! I have very sensitive skin and it has been just fine. The color is rosy-goldy perfection, neither pink nor gold, yet somehow both. I've used it with both very cool blush (Tarte Blushing Bride), and warmer (Stila CC Peach Blossom), and it looked great with both. (I was concerned it might not go well with cooler blush.)

TL;DR: Lovely glowy rose-gold highlighter suitable for light skin tones, neutral (neither cool nor warm).

Mascara -Maybelline -Volum Express Mascara

The best mascara I've ever used. I bought it I think in 2013 summer and still use it, hasn't dried out yet. It creates a natural effect, doesn't clump my lashes. Just perfect.

Mascara -Maybelline -Lash Sensational Mascara

This mascara is a good dupe for benefits roller lash which I love but it only comes in black. I purchase this in Black/brown for day time and I love it. The key is to remove some excess product in order for it to apply without clumps. It makes my (short , sparse lashes look very long , almost fake looking and I love the shape and two densities of the spikes. I also use a lash curler before and they stay curled for most of the day! :-) it is hard to remove at the end of the day. It doesn’t budge all day either. Requires a little extra time for removal (even thou I don’t buy the waterproof version) but since I’m so happy with the results it’s worth it for me. Be gentle when removing as to not remove your lashes!

Eyeliner -Maybelline -Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Liner

Well...I wanted to like this because of the skinny nib of the pen. But it was soooooo stiff!! Plus I had to press the liner on my eyes many times to ensure that I got any product out. There WAS product in the pen but it just didn't flow smoothly. I only owned the liner for 3 days and went back to a better pen liner and chucked the Maybelline one in the bin. Lesson learned.
