The Maybelline Company was created by a 19-year-old entrepreneur named Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line. Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline Cake Mascara, ""the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use"" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic

Liquid -Maybelline - FIT Me Foundation (Matte + Poreless)

on 10/23/2017 12:57:00 PM

Ugh. This was one of the last drugstore foundations for me to try with my super shiny/oily skin. I have melasma/discoloration mostly that needs evening out.

After buying 2 wrong shades (classic ivory - warm nude) that both oxidized too dark on me (I was able to test at home - middle of the day with natural daylight using a mirror by the window on my neck) - I had to go back and return those and buy 110 - Porcelain. Holy crap, I had no idea that I'd been buying too dark foundation! My face is naturally darker than my neck and with my melasma, using a matching foundation ended up making my face look much darker than my neck. I'd never, ever in my life think that a shade like Porcelain would work, but it did. It was a little light, but was the best match for my neck.

This didn't work for me. I tried applying with a damp sponge - nope. The foundation wouldn't even blend or budge. I went back to my ELF brush and it was fine. I found the foundation just sorta "sat" on top of my skin - to the point where if I took a baby wipe and wiped a mark off my face, it was like wiping powder off my face. Very odd. YET - after 3 hours - I was a GREASY MESS. Enough so that, when I blotted, I had to use TWO blotting sheets. For a foundation to only last 3 hours? No thank you. Matte and Poreless, not on my skin.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational Lipcolor ~ Red Revival

on 10/23/2017 11:21:00 AM

Purchased this based on the reviews that it's a true red with blue undertones. I have light skin with pink undertones, dark brown hair and green eyes. It shows up as a fuchia color on me not a true red. It applies kind of patchy and glossy even with using a nude colored Rimmel lip pencil first and powdering my lips. The search continues.

Lipstick -Maybelline - 24 Hour super stay

Stays on very well, but I found that it emphasised and sank into every line, wrinkle and crevice of my mouth, especially after putting the balm on, making me look much older. Putting a good, clear gloss over the top helped

Mascara -Maybelline - The Colossal Big Shot Tinted Primer

on 10/23/2017 3:14:00 AM

This reminds me a lot of Benefit's They're Real Tinted Lash Primer. When used as a natural-looking mascara, Maybelline's The Colossal Big Shot Tinted Primer is actually very nice. It enhances the lashes and makes them look so pretty! But not "done". But when used as a lash primer, this is really just okay. Not BAD but there are definitely better ones out there that I would recommend over this one.

Lash primer is something that I use every single day. And I expect it to do two things: prevent my mascara from smudging, and give my mascara a "boost" with added length and volume. That's why I love lash primers so much, a good one makes all the difference in the world.

Maybelline's lash primer is black in color and has a smooth, clump-free formula. Applies very easily. But there's not much added drama or "oomph" with this primer, and it didn't do a great job of smudge-prevention either. So I will not be buying this again.

My HG is Clinique's Lash Building Primer, and Hard Candy's 1000 Lashes is also pretty good.

I bought this because I was curious but it's not a winner for me.

Contour -Maybelline - FaceStudio Master Contour

on 10/22/2017 10:13:00 PM

I gave this product a good rating because the highlighter and the blush are beautiful. The Contour color is not very good and not very blendable but I would buy this again just for the highlighter which is a beautiful pale champagne gold. The packaging clunky and the brush is no good.
