The Maybelline Company was created by a 19-year-old entrepreneur named Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line. Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline Cake Mascara, ""the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use"" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic

Mascara -Maybelline -Great Lash Mascara

This is the one product that has and always will be in my bag. I will never not have it. I get the BIG with the voluminous brush and I have it in multiple colors (love the Brownish-black for fair skin or no-makeup days), including the clear, which is the OG brow gel. It's not too watery and not too thick, never flakes or clumps, lasts all day, comes off easily (even the waterproof with a little bit of coconut oil) and nourishes my lashes. Honestly, it's the best. I save the brushes and have filled the empty, cleaned out containers with castor oil to put on my lashes and brows at night.

Brows -Maybelline -Brow Drama Pomade Crayon

on 11/20/2017 11:55:00 PM

I would repurchase ONLY if it was on sale and because the blonde is a great color for me.

I got this in blonde 50% off sale for $5.00. The color was fine, plenty of pigment, BUT no way was I able to just put it on and it was done. Like Dipbrow, it takes a little effort. I like the formula, if you apply then use a spoolie and clean up the edges and just want some color, it works. The downside is after the first few uses the point is just rounded and it makes a huge mess so I just used a brush on the crayon like I would a regular pomade when it got near the end. I like Anastasia's better but the colors are just weird. I don't know how drugstore brands can get nice natural colors, but her line cannot, at least not for blondes. One thing I do like about the Maybelline is that if you goof, it wipes off very easily because it does not dry super fast. I put some of the pomade crayon on, then brush with a spoolie. Then I take concealer to shape and clean up the brow. If you just need a hint of color and aren't into perfection this will do it. I would recommend this to anyone who is just starting to fill in their brows because it applies much easier than a dip pomade. Downside, it smudges if you don't set it. Not bad but more than Dipbrow Pomade.

If you can catch it on sale it's worth a try.for $5.00. However at the regular price of $10.00 for .04 ounces, if Anastasia Dipbrow colors are good for you, you get .14 ounces for $18.00 so it's a much better deal, even if you only use half before it dries out. So the Maybelline is definitely overpriced. Size matters and in this case the drugstore brand is more expensive.

Lipstick -Maybelline -Matte Metallics-Molten Bronze

on 11/20/2017 7:26:00 PM

This is a strange, weird and interesting shade of lipstick. I will call this my Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde color. Some days it goes on a deep reddish plummy brown with a greenish gold shift and other days, a dirt brown with a green shift. If I put a lip balm on before, it changed into a deep brownish berry with a metallic green/gold dusting. If I lightly layer it over Plum Perfect or any red/berry lipstick, again it changes the color. It also looked very dark on my face (I wore it for Halloween). As mentioned, it applies patchy, even with lip balm underneath. I wouldn't call this matte, it is too creamy and this didn't last long on my lips. It leaves a very faint stain. Same problem with the other colors in this line, (I also bought Hot Lava, an orangey red with gold shift but turned bright reddish pink on me). Won't buy this again. I'll stick with my Warm Me Up from the regular line.

Liquid -Maybelline -FIT Me Foundation (Matte + Poreless)

First of all, this product does not come in my shade. I’m from Southeast Asia with light yellow undertone skin and I’ve tried about 5 different shades. The closest shade I found was classic ivory, but it was still too cool for my skin color. This was very disappointing because the product itself wasn’t that bad. It blends well, but it does get oily after a while. I tried this product out because of all the hype and it was pretty decent. However, I’m not a huge fan of the bottle because when I threw it out I felt there were still some product left inside. I would definitely buy this product again if it has my shade!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline -The City Mini Palette

on 11/19/2017 2:08:00 PM

I enjoy using these pallette in this City Mini Collection they have a better quality pigmentation in comparison to the Nudes line. The packaging is just a simple transparent package nothing fancy but the shadows blend well, easy to build up give a moderate amount of kick back, and will give a good 8 hrs for staying power over all a good drugstore line from maybelline.
