Maybelline

The Maybelline Company was created by a 19-year-old entrepreneur named Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line. Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline Cake Mascara, ""the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use"" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic

Lipstick -Maybelline -Gone Greige

on 11/22/2017 4:45:00 AM

This is a brownish-grey, mostly matte, smooth creamy lipstick. It has good lasting power, although about half of it rubbed off when I ate. Very comfortable to wear, easy to apply. The scent disappears almost immediately.

This lipstick is basically grey on me (light olive skin), with a tiny hint of brown. It washes me out a little bit (which I don't mind!), but that could be solved with some blush or a bold eye. I LOVE this colour. It's interesting and bold, but not too in-your-face, and still office appropriate (at my fairly casual office).

It would be good to wear lip liner with this. One note, and this is why I deducted one lippie, is that the edges of the lipstick reveal the pink of your lip underneath - which might not bother some people, but bugs me because it makes it look less sharp. That said, if you are fair or not-olive-toned, this would probably look more pink on you, and therefore not be a problem.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline -Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow

Barely Branded is a pretty, shimmering champagne color that unfortunately disappears on my light-medium, yellow NC20-NC25 coloring. Although it calls itself “24hr,” it does crease on my very oily skin. I’ll be returning this one. If there’s a more pigmented color in this line that is less prone to creasing, I’d be interested in trying it.

Liquid -Maybelline -FIT Me Foundation (Matte + Poreless)

128 Warm Nude matched my light-medium, yellow NC20-NC25 skin fairly well. Starts off slightly pale, but oxidizes over the course of the day to match.

Its mattifying effect starts off too strong, making me look dull and flat until about midday when my skin has produced enough oil to look dewy and natural. Unfortunately, by the end of a workday at the office, the foundation has started to visibly break up on my very oily skin.

If I were willing to put in more effort to make this work, I would try a primer, finishing powder, setting spray, and/or blotting papers. For now, I’ll keep looking.

Mascara -Maybelline -Volum' Express The Colossal Big Shot Waterproof Mascara

I love it. It's waterproof and maintains the curl in my lashes. It gave them length and volume while still looking quite natural. The end result for me looked like my lil niece's naturally long and curled eyelashes ❤.
Wore this through my afternoon nap and when I woke up 2 hours later, my lashes are still curled and it lasted to the night. The formula is quite wet but if you scrape all the excess product from the wand, it will give you the perfect amount of product to apply on your lashes. Curl first, then apply two coats and you're good to go. 10/10 would recommend and repurchase.
