Toners -Mario Badescu -Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

Horrible. Makes me break out every time I use it, idk why.. I have even tried keeping it further from my face. It helps keep my makeup fresh but I break out all over my face the next day. Not worth the money.

Treatments (Face) -Mario Badescu -Drying Lotion

I suffer from nearly year round oily skin, exacerbated by the high humidity and temperatures where I live. In other words: a recipe for disaster every now and again. Whenever a blemish appears I use one dab of this a few minutes before going to sleep and I wake up to a pimple that is at least 50% flatter and healed. it's almost as though it speeds up the whole start to finish cycle of the pimple, so instead of it lasting up to a week, you're looking at no more than a few days max. Love how quickly it dries and the bottle is small enough for travel too which is a bonus.

Felt really nice on my skin. Reduced redness and irritation. I have combo skin. Not too drying and not too oily. Product felt just right.

Toners -Mario Badescu -Glycolic Acid Toner

on 7/7/2018 11:52:00 AM

My skin: combination/dehydrated skin with hormonal acne.

I have generally very good experiences with glycolic acid in other products from other lines (Mene&Moy/M&M/Eneomey, notably), but this toner just didn't do much of anything for my skin. I found it quite harsh and drying, in spite of the aloe vera and the relatively low glycolic acid content. Too harsh for everyday use, but not very effective as an exfoliant, especially seeing as I really cannot use it on a daily basis. It always made my skin go into overdrive and produce much more oil than usual the day after using it, so I have switched to other chemical exfoliants. A higher percentage of glycolic acid in an emollient cream base or as a mask treatment seems to work much better with my dehydrated skin and has better effect.

Don't think I'll even manage to use up this bottle, sadly. Maybe on my chest and shoulders, or something along those lines.

Gels/Soaps -Mario Badescu -AHA Botanical Body Soap

This is turning out to be a good body wash for me because I always get some form of skin funk in the summer and the only way to keep it in check is to use something aimed towards body “blemishes”. I usually avoid fragrances because 99% of them irritate my skin but do ok with it in a body wash because it doesn’t stay in contact with my skin that long. I’m not an expert at describing smells but to me it smells fresh and slightly floral and neither overwhelming nor lingering.
I ordered a sample pack from the MB website and the only thing I liked from it was this so I got a big bottle. It seems to keep my skin clear and not drying it out either (but my home has a water softening system that is freakin magic). The only AHA is grapefruit extract, a very mild acid, not an aggressive AHA . But I’ve had some luck with Dr. Bronner’s tea tree castile soap as a natural aternative for antibacterial purposes and personally believe citris friuts and tea tree oil both work.
I think this makes an excellent soap to shave with, just enough slip and the antibacterial properties of the grapefruit extract creates a hygienic environment to zap bacteria and prevent bumpies. This is a definite repurchase, I already have another bottle in my stash!
