Loose Powders -MAC -Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Loose Powder in Neutralize

on 1/18/2018 1:31:00 PM

I usually used pressed powder to set my makeup but after watching several YouTube videos,I decided to replace it with a loose powder
in mac store,I saw mac prep&prime CC loose powder and decided to buy it in spot.I chose it in lavender shade(illuminate) because I thought it's the best one for my pale skin.SA told that it will cancel yellowish, dull undertone of my skin and make my skin, specially my dark cycles look brighter
It's priced 40$ here and there's just 9 grams of product in the jar so it was an expensive purchase.luckily I'm 100% happy with it
First time I was hesitant to put it on my skin but then I saw that it's almost transparent on skin.just if I apply too much product on one place,it gives pink undertone to my skin
I use it with damp or dry beauty blender and it works like magic on my prevents my T-zone from looking oily but doesn't make my dry cheeks, look more gives my skin a very flawless, airbrushed finish and doesn't look too much dry or powdery or doesn't even look bad under flash light of camera
I didn't expect to love it this spreads smoothly on face and makes my skin look even and velvety and fixes my foundation and concealer and at the same time,I feel my skin looks less tired and doesn't feel heavy and doesn't clog my pores or break me down
I don't know how could I live without this loose powder,I can't anymore.I will definitely repurchase but I don't think I'm going to run out of it anytime soon

Liquid -MAC -Studio Face and Body Foundation

on 1/18/2018 7:48:00 AM

I wanted soooo bad to love this product..the texture...the coverage...everything I was looking for. Even the fact that it is water proof and long wearing was what I was looking for. I have combination skin where it gets dehydrated daily and oily as the day continues. I got this thinking it would prevent my skin from getting dehydrated and as long as I used a good setting powder, then it would be a perfect match. Well, it looked great on my skin...even with my old acne scars and texture...but...after wearing it to work 1 day...I double cleansed my face and HOLY SHIT WHAT IN THE HECK?!!! I got cystic acne spots all over my face!!! I haven't had cystic acne in almost a year!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! One on my upper lip, another on my forevhead, one on my chin, and 2 forming on my cheek...Jesus lawd!!! NO!!! I about threw that devil liquid through the wall! The mistake I made was not doing my research 1st. I usually always go to and look up the foundations of interest and as long as they score 4 or below on the acne causing ingredients, then I can wear this foundation...this foundation had a high score of 11...11!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH never again...back to my search for finding a truly hydrating foundation that wont break me out :(

UPDATE: I think the cystic acne causing ingredient is: Polyglyceryl-3-Diisostearate

go to and if check your foundation to see if it has that ingredient if youre struggling with cystic acne flair ups when u try new foundations.

Blush -MAC -Full of Joy

on 1/17/2018 12:07:00 PM

Oh man, oh man. "Full of Joy" was locked and loaded in my beauty arsenal in high school (I'm about to graduate college now). I constantly rocked candy-like, cool-toned purples and pinks. For reference, I have cool, yellow Asian skin and the pastel lavender brightens up my cheeks and whole face. Usually, I do the blush draping method with this and apply another blush of-choice on top. This blush works better layered underneath another shade if you're going for a natural look (lavender blush ain't natural, folks!).

Lipstick -MAC -Apres Chic

on 1/17/2018 11:54:00 AM

One of my favorite MAC lipsticks - MAC should do good by us and revive this color by placing it in its permanent collection.

Apres Chic is a brown pink/rosy nude shade with buildable color, but it pulls cooler on my NC25 skintone. It gives you the "just bitten" look, and I use it sparingly because it was a limited edition release. It's a sophisticated yet low maintenance color- I would go so far as to say it's THE universally flattering, natural-looking, muted red lipstick in existence.

Drugstore dupes (close, but no cigar) include Revlon's Rosewine and a L'oreal lipgloss in 300 Rich Red.

Eye Shadow -MAC -Paint Pot in Painterly

on 1/17/2018 6:25:00 AM

I kept hearing about this, but was skeptical. I have used Maybelline Color Tattoos--which I don't recommend, as IME they dry up very quickly--and I love me a good cream eyeshadow, but haven't found any that completely fulfill all of my requirements. I'm also not one to think that a product is good just because of the name/brand, believe in judging each product based on its own merits.

Another reason I was skeptical is that I have very sensitive skin, and tend to be allergic to a lot of products. But I kept hearing that this was the perfect "nude" eye base for pink/cool toned skin (Soft Ochre for warm skin), so I finally got it.

So, this is a neutral/cool matte beige, a little darker than my skintone (NW 15-20). When I use this, I apply over the lid (over a light moisturizer) up into the crease (but not under the brow area). I find, as with most primers and cream shadows, it's best applied by patting on in thin layers. This covers discoloration very well; I've heard of some people using it as a primer over discolored areas or concealer, though I haven't tried that. I usually use a powder base shadow over this (Essence Smooth Caramel) to help with blendability of dark matte colors.

I have a lot of eye primers and cream shadows, and find this a worthy addition to my stash. Note that in addition to being sensitive, my eyes are quite dry, and this doesn't bother them at all.

TL;DR: Great base shadow for cool skintones, doesn't bother sensitive/dry eyes. Apply by patting on thin layers.
