Concealers -MAC -Studio Waterweight Concealer - NW20

on 2/24/2018 7:49:00 AM

Man, do I ever have a LOT of concealers on the go! But I'm always, ALWAYS looking for something better (i.e. better coverage, easier application, less creasing, longer wear, natural - i.e. the concealer that doesn't exist!). I purchased this new concealer from MAC in the shade NW20 (I wish there was an NW 18 as 15 was too light and unnatural looking but 20 is just a hair darker than ideal) and I am pretty happy with it. I love the packaging - a small glass bottle with a dropper - shake it up well, I was told, before dispensing a drop or 2. Heck, I've not needed to dispense ANYTHING - just the tiniest "dab" of what's on the end of the dropper is enough. This concealer has unbelievably good coverage/pigmentation for something so liquid-y (though not as liquid-y as the name might suggest). Use too much and you will have trouble blending simply because it is so pigmented. And right now, I don't think I'd wear this on a rainy day or a sweaty, humid one because water seems to break it down very easily. But for a work day, I am really liking this concealer so far. The makeup artist told me that it can be used as foundation and that's been my solution for the times when I apply too much - I blend it down over my cheeks, where I have some redness anyway, and it does solve both problems. Worth a try if you are looking for a new concealer. Lots of colours to choose from and you can always ask for a sample.

Lipstick -MAC -Heroine

My favourite lipstick shade EVER! I use this with the matching lip pencil and it’s a strong, bold but very wearable purple shade. It’s long lasting but can get dry on the lips as it’s in a matte finish. I feel like myself when I wear this and the shade will suit a lot of skin tones too. I had a drugstore dupe of Heroine but that didn’t compare to the real thing and it soon got decluttered when I brought Heroine. Heroine will always have a special place in my makeup collection 💜

Mascara -MAC -Extended Play - Endlessly Black

on 2/23/2018 5:06:00 PM

FINALLY. This mascara is mind blowing. Length, separation, definition, volume, no smudges, no flakes. You name it, this does it! The endlessly black is super black, so I can't imagine how black the gigablack is (and I haven't tried it, yet). My biggest mascara issue is smudging on my lower lid. Even Estee Lauder's DoubleWear mascara smudges on me. This one doesn't, though, and it delivers in every single area I need a mascara to deliver. The wand is super skinny and the bristles are course, so you can grab every single lash you can find and drag it up. So, so beautiful. And at only $18, I'm sold forever!

Blush -MAC -Mineralize Blush - Warm Soul

on 2/23/2018 4:59:00 PM

First of all, I love this blush. I'm an NC15, so I N.E.V.E.R. would have grabbed this blush on my own. One of the SA's in the MAC store insisted I try it, and oh my goodness it's gorgeous. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it just gives you a perfect, healthy glow. It's not pink or orange or's just flushingly glowy. And that's exactly what I like. Now the packaging, however, is horrible. My nails are constantly chipping on the rim while I'm trying to get it open, so one lippy for that (and an overall docked lippy because it's just so ridiculously bad). The price is a bit salty, but you do get a lot of product, so three lippies there. Overall, I would recommend this blush and will repurchase (despite the awful packaging...come on, MAC!).

Blush -MAC -Matte Blush - Blunt

on 2/22/2018 8:06:00 PM

It's not blush, it's not contour...

It's BLU-NTOUR! Hahahaha I kill myself!

Anyways, to repeat what many a previous reviewer has said, I TOO purchased Blunt in my search for a contour for my roundish nc40 face.

Yes it's warm, you can easily tell it has a reddish undertone. I quickly shelved blunt for that very reason as I too was searching for something cooler to contour with. A couple years go by (out of sight out of mind is right!) and contouring is no longer my jam. It makes me look dirty, it affects the way my blush and highlight look and adding another layer makes even the lightest look, look heavy.

Enter the term many of us know: BRON-TOUR, which is using bronzer as a contour. If one could use bronzer, then one can use blush, yes? YES! Blunt's warmness and rich brown tones lend just the right shade, color and warmth. The depth can really be made to look spectacular with a gold highlight above or below an application of blunt (that's my golden goddess look BTW, with MAC woodwinked on my eyes).

In all my collection, I have nothing like it, not even an eye shadow equivalent. I would absolutely repurchase!
