Liquid -MAC -Studio Waterweight Foundation SPF30

I really really really wanted to like this product. When I first got this a year ago, the MUA recommended this when I asked for something with light to medium coverage that works for dry skin to replace the more expensive Chanel Vitalumiere.

First, she recommended this to me and in a much lighter shade (I'm NC 25-30 but she insisted that I buy NC20 cos it would brighten my skin). I bought it since it looked ok in the store and she convinced me that this shade is just right for me as it will oxidise as it set. She also said I can layer on if I wish to have more coverage. I tried it on again at home and the shade was just not right so I nv wore it for a full day.

Fast forward one year and I am down to NC25 so I decided to give this another shot. Here're the pros and cons:

Brightens up the skin
Easy application with fingers
Dries quickly if a thin layer is applied
Nice packaging

Slides off the face in a couple of hours despite using loose powder
Did not oxidise so it still made me look super pale
Cystic acne came up after using this for 2 consecutive days (nope, it wasn't Aunt Flo)
Foundation did not sit well with various sunscreens and some pilling occurred
Tried layering but more pilling occurred
Emphasised dryness and enlarged pores when this was applied on drier skin days (isn't this supposed to be for dry skin?!)

Till today, I'm still looking a cheaper alternative to my Vitalumiere. If anyone has any recommendations for moisturising and medium coverage foundations, please ping me.

Liquid -MAC -Studio Face and Body Foundation

I have had this product for a while now and I absolutely love it. I know this foundation is extremely popular with makeup artists and I can see why. I have the shade C2 which is quite yellow but it warms my complexion up yet still matches. I am NC20 for reference so think the shade C1 would be an exact match. This foundation provides light and buildable coverage and actually looks better as the day goes on. It stays on and most importantly does not break me out whatsoever. I have normal skin which can be dehydrated and also a bit sensitive. I would say that this foundation is probably better suited to normal/dry skin as it is quite dewy. I apply powder in my t-zone when using this but my skin isn't oily. The finish it gives is like my skin but better. It basically is second skin in a bottle (for me anyway). I honestly cannot recommend this enough for those who are looking for light-medium coverage however I definitely think it is better suited for normal skin types as it can leave a bit of a shine.

Blush -MAC -Mocha

Mocha blush is a classic. I’ve owned this several times and I’ve bought it for my mom. It’s a very wearable everyday pink. On me, it’s very neutral. It’s not peachy or yellow or blue. I personally don’t see the plum and it reads slightly warm on me. I have a hard time with pinks, but I love this one.
The formula is amazing. It’s Pigmented and buildable and blendable. My mom struggled with hard pan but I never have. I’m not sure what she and I do differently.
I love that I can get it in a pan and pop it in a palette.

Eye Shadow -MAC -Paint Pot in Painterly

One of my favorite MAC eye shadow.
Simply put this is an awesome color. I can make dramatic eyes with darker colors in the corner or keep it soft and simple with this all over lid and wedge in crease.

Moisturizers -MAC -Strobe Cream

How come no one talks about the strong perfume in this? I couldn't believe my nose when I took a whiff of this product: it smells like a disinfectant bathroom cleaner, absolutely disgusting. I used it on top on my cheekbones, under and over foundation, and saw zero difference. Not even a glimpse of a glow. It didn't matter, because I would never use such a strongly perfumed cosmetic on my face. Companies need to get a clue.
