Eyes -MAC -Paint Pot in Bare Study

on 5/27/2018 8:52:00 PM

This versatile little product isn't the cheapest out there, but is one of those products that has stood the test of time over the years and is one I always repurchase. It is a buttery cream eyeshadow in a warm champagne ivory colour with finely milled gold pearl in it. As an eyeshadow by itself, it imparts a pretty and subtle sheen and brightens the whole eye area without being garish or overly bright. It also functions well as a glowy base eyeshadow primer - shadow applied on top before it sets will not budge all day once it's dry. It's also subtle enough to use as a brow highlight or even on the cupids bow. Used with a thin eyeliner brush, it also looks nice as a gentle inner corner highlight or used along the lower lashline, and is water-resistant so it doesn't smudge. It comes off easily with make-up remover at the end of the day.

One pot takes me over a year to get through so that offsets the cost a little bit. Even so, it's just such a lovely colour and with a very pretty and timeless shimmer to it, nothing OTT. It's easy to apply and long lasting - I think it's one of those expensive products that actually is worth the money.

Eyeliner -MAC -Technakohl in Photogravure

I bought my first MAC eyeliner back in 2011 and have been repurchasing the same one since. Absolute HG!

I've tried quite a few eyeliners (both drugstore and high-end) and they ALL smudge to the point of looking like a raccoon after just a couple of hours. I really can't understand why. Some simply disappear, almost as if I did not draw my eyes.

This stays on all day and night. I apply it at 8am and by 11pm, it's still in place with no smudging. Or very minimal smudge at the very most.

Sometimes I really want to try out cheaper alternatives but I think to myself that the last thing I want is to unintentionally look like a raccoon and waste money at the same time.

So I guess I'll be repurchasing this until they stop producing it.

Concealers -MAC -Pro Longwear Concealer

This is a great concsealer. To be honest so far the best I have tried. It is the only one that covers my dark undereye circles. Shop assistant have advised me to buy a complimentary highlighter with it. It was expensive but worth it. Highlighter helps highlight that dark under eye area and enhances the effect of concealer. If your under eye circles aren't too dark, concealer alone would do the job.

At first concealer felt dry on my skin, but day 3 my skin got sort of used to it and no discomfort at all. Only small min point it did crease a little on me around the under eye wrinkles. Concidering the great coverage, crease bothers me a little less.
Tip: Blend this concealer with the damp beauty blender

Liquid -MAC -Studio Waterweight Foundation SPF30

MAC foundations have always been exceptional in my experience, but this one was a dud. This waterweight foundation is too...watery. It has very little coverage, which I like, but it never seems to settle. It sits on top of my skin and slips and slides all around my face, even after it's been powdered. I dont wear very much, but it's visible and obvious. Another reviewer described this foundation as pilling when layered over other products, and that has happened when I've accidentally applied to much. It delivers a "wet" look instead of a dewy, moisturizing glow. I will not be be purchasing.

Highlighters -MAC -Prep Prime Fix+ PinkLite

A very good fixing/moisturizing mist. It doesn't show oily in my oily/combination skin, neither on application, nor later on. I enjoy the cooling sensation it gives to my skin. It takes about two minutes to absorb. While it does give a glowy finish, by no means does it give you the glow or shine of a highlighter - it is NOT a highlighter. It gives a very natural looking glow.
