Lipstick -MAC Cosmetics -Liptensity lipsticks (all shades)

on 10/13/2018 8:42:00 PM

One of the few MAC lipsticks I manage to use and whittle down the bullet of because the product doesn't peel my lips (unlike every other lipstick in their line.) These are pricier unless you catch them on a sale, which MAC seems to be doing pretty often lately, whether that's 25%, or even 50% for a flash sale the other day.

There's a tackier texture to them, so they're a little longer than your regular cream lipstick. The finish of these is satin to creamy, for sure and they will move as they do not truly set. Reapplication is required after eating and drinking but fading is graceful.

I have these in over 10 shades, and I don't regret the purchases unlike I do with some other lipsticks (both in general and from MAC.) I can go without lipbalm on the days I use this so it is my favourite until Mac discontinues it lol!

I am warm based NC15-25, depending on the season. Some of my favourite shades are Mulling Spices, Habanero, Doe, Cloud in my Coffee, and King Salmon. Still bummed I missed out on Lobster.

Pressed Powders -MAC Cosmetics -Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Light Plus

I'm dehydrated yet oily, very acne-prone, with heavy texture on cheeks and nose. Sadly this powder does not work for me. It breaks down and literally slides off my face after a few hours and clogs my pores. Even with primer and setting spray. I also don't love that there's no room in the package for a powder puff for midday touchups.

On the bright side, the Light Plus shade is a great match for my NC20 skin. It looks a bit light when applied, but then blends into my skin within a few minutes.

FYI around 10 years ago when my skin was COMPLETELY different (I had dry skin, no acne, and zero texture), this powder made my skin glow. That's why I'm giving it a rating of 2 lippies.

I really wanted to like this foundation! After 4 hours it had started to become patchy around my mouth and on my chin

Lipstick -MAC Cosmetics -Powder Kiss

on 10/13/2018 12:51:00 PM

For the record, I hate wearing matte lipsticks, because the formulas usually dry out my lips. I was intrigued by a MAC ad for Powder Kiss lipstick (which featured a lovely girl using it as a blush and lipstick) and had to try it. It is described by MAC as a lipstick that gives a matte finish with the feel of a balm.

I've only worn this today, so I will come back after I've had a chance to road test it a bit longer, but it does seem worthy of the hype. It does feel like a balm and the color is a nice matte pink (I'm wearing A Little Tamed). It feels great on, unlike any other matte I've tried.

Because it does feel so nice, the lasting power isn't great. It did last through drinking a glass of water, but sticks around for about 2 hours on me. That's not unusual, though--lipsticks that last longer on me tend to dry out my lips. I'll gladly accept the burden of reapplying if it means that my lips won't end up dry and flaky.

So far so good. I wouldn't say that this is necessarily HG material or the best balm ever, but it does give me a matte look and I don't hate it. :) I might even check out other colors, although most of them seemed to be quite warm.
