The first U.S MAC store opened in 1991, in New York. The company's products were initially aimed at professional make-up artists, but are now sold to consumers worldwide. Estée Lauder Companies acquired a controlling interest in MAC in 1996, then completed their acquisition of the company in 1998.

Blush -MAC -Powder Blush - Peachykeen

My everyday brush, beautiful muted pink shade with tiny golden glitter specks.
I’d say it can look good on almost any skin tone.
However does not last on my skin for too long... and glass on my packaging popped off only after couple weeks of use;(

Eye Shadow -MAC -Satin - Discrete

on 8/18/2018 6:32:00 PM

After all these years, I "lucked" onto what seems to be an authentic compact of Discrete, and better still, I HAVE FOUND A DUPE!

The dupe is Coastal Scents' "Sand Dune:"

Both Discrete and Sand Dune are a light greyish "pearl" color; a beautiful and unique cool neutral.
I can scarcely tell them apart when they're swatched.
Sand Dune is actually smoother and better pigmented than Discrete, and may have a tiiiiiny bit more shimmer, but as far as color goes, they're practically identical.
Since my Discrete is used, I don't know if I'll have the nerve to actually apply it to my lids, but it's a lovely color that I'm very gratified to finally own.
Some people have likened Discrete to MAC "Shroom," but I can't agree; Shroom is lighter and much warmer.

I indicated that I would repurchase Discrete, but since it's long since discontinued, I probably *couldn't* find it again.

However, I like the color enough to gladly repurchase its dupe when the time comes.

Mascara -MAC -Extended Play Gigablack Lash

on 8/17/2018 5:03:00 PM

$19 feels ridiculous for mascara - but I’m telling you, this is fantastic!

One coat is natural, two enhances and three competes with the super lash mascaras on the market.

Only this does.not.budge. Until you take it off. Which is easy with a wipe.

The brush is small - which works perfectly for my gray short lashes. No goop upon application. No flakes or smudges under the eyes.

Great for mature ladies with hooded eyes!!!

Crème -MAC -Mineralize Foundation

on 8/17/2018 11:37:00 AM

The foundation feels very balmy and rich, which should suit the skin on a dry side best. I have combination skin prone to oiliness in the T-zone, and yet I absolutely love the product. It provides a very glowy natural looking finish. The application is quite easy if you use the sponge that comes with the product; worked better than beauty blender or brushes I've tried. I do need to set the foundation well, and I'd still occasionally end up being shiny on the cheeks and forehead, yet I still like the overall effect. The foundation has SPF15 which is quite good too.
If you are on a look out for something more mattifying or with good coverage, skip this one.

Lipstick -MAC -Love Drought

on 8/16/2018 10:50:00 PM

This lipstick came in the MAC Nude Lip Trio. Being the nude lip fanatic I am, I was excited to try this out. Unfortunately, it is a soft, rosy plum with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. I would not describe this as a nude and I feel like the metallicness of it can be unflattering on most people. I will not purchase.
