I was planning to restock my Chanel Vitalumiere foundation, and was browsing in local shops, rather than making a huge effort to go into our main shopping area, due to a recent injury. I popped into a lovely boutique beauty salon, and got chatting to the sales assistant. They had a beautiful display of Lola makeup which caught my eye. The range has a retro theme, and for those of us who love our products to look as good on the dressing table as they do on the face, I was easily persuaded to have a little mini make-over. Masquerade is a thick, densely-pigmented, buildable foundation, which is perfect for my dry skin. Even though I moisturise twice daily, exfoliate & mask-up weekly, I still have skin which soaks up products like a sponge. Apparently the range also has anti-ageing benefits, so thats even better! The foundation covered the red patches on my cheeks nicely, and so far has lasted quite well into the day. No problem at all with drying out darker - my biggest bug-bear with some foundations. 02 is a good match for my fair skin, there is a lighter shade, but our local store decided not to stock it, as they felt it was too light. Bearing in mind this is Scotland, a country full of the palest skins in the world, 01 in this range must be quite spectacularly pale!I'm not sure how widely available this range is in the UK, but it is now on my radar and in my neighbourhood, so I will most definitely be back for more... The lipsticks looked very tempting indeed!Regarding price, I paid £5 less than I would have spent on the Chanel product for a generous 50ml, rather than 30ml. I'm using tiny amounts, as it has lots of dense pigment, so I think it will last ages. Caution though, it's a pot, so I'm resisting the urge to plonk my fingers in, religiously using the little scoop provided, which gets a little wash now & then. Another little comment - the product has a bit of a "separated" look about it. I think it's because of the rich moisturisers it contains, but this hasn't in any way affected the application or appearance. So, to sum up, it's a hit for dry, sensitive, pale, ageing, somewhat red skin. Not an easy task to tick all of these needs in one product. I'm loving Lola so far!

I've had this brush set for ages and it's incredible. The brushes feel soft. The set is perfect for traveling and the packaging is so cute. It's a must!

I LOVE this lip sheer! I'm not sure how much it costs/where to buy it since I received it as an extra in a swap. At first I thought it was way too dark and didn't like it. I don't know what changed but the second time I tried it I just LOVED it. It's such a great purple/brown. Kind of hard to describe the color. It works as kind of a subtle stain. Very moisturising and the color is actually very subtle so I apply it as lip balm sometimes. It is certainly buildable. The packaging is super cute too, as are all of Lola packaging. I don't know if mine is a mini or what but its smaller than my other Lola lippies. I'm not sure where to repurchase and I'm dreading the day I run out of this because it is an absolute HG staple lip product for me. I think it's a universally flattering shade that would look good on all skintones, and is very versatile and can be worn a number of different ways from subtle to out there vampy.

I purchased this from Ulta however long ago (months) and have tried this eye primer on a handful of occasions. After trying it out earlier this evening before meeting my beau for dinner, I'm ready to trade it to someone else. On me it creases easily. Earlier today I did let it set and rubbed it in to thin it out some more before I added shadow. It all kinda melted, but I was using Stila champagne glow trio which tends to melt anyway. Was hoping Lola's primer would give it more staying power, but no chance. So, I'm looking to swap this primer and perhaps the Stila trio as well (it's champagne shade is a pretty highlight). I would not repurchase this eye primer. It went on creamy, but it didn't help shadows to stay or look more vibrant, it creased, and for me it didn't appear to provide much benefit.
