Mascara -LUSH -Eyes Right Mascara

on 2/16/2018 11:37:00 AM

It's not the cheapest out there but this is the most convenient mascara, ever. I have oily prone skin (as where I live the climate is extremely humid) but to my greatest surprise, this mascara did not smudge once, and I have oily lids. I was so hesitant to get this because reviews said that it's really not waterproof and smudges very easily.

Most of my other (waterproof) mascaras has flaked or smudged on me (except for a few that don't but are a chore to clean off and they make my lashes drop) by the end of the day.

I've worn lush's mascara for about 11 hours now (haven't been in an air conditioned room), and it hasn't smudged on me. I wouldn't say this is a must get and an absolutely amazing product for everyone and this is a hit or a miss.

But overall, I would definitely buy this product again! (:

Cleansers -LUSH -Let the Good Times Roll

on 2/13/2018 12:32:00 PM

I love this cleanser. I feel like it's the cleanser version of the Oatfix mask. I usually put a small amount in the middle of my palm and make it into a soft paste with a few drops of water. After using this my skin feels moisturized and soft, and that lovely cookie-smell also lasts on the skin for a while. I usually use this in the morning, every to every other day. I have dry skin and incorporate a lot of acids into my routine, therefor I can get away with using it that often but I feel like it might clog the pores of those with oily or acne-prone skin with too frequent use. The packaging is meh, as with most jars, though I do get that it would be hard to contain it any other way. The popcorn pieces are annoying and don't really serve any purpose other than to look good, so I do wish they'd get rid of those.

Hair -LUSH -Caca Rouge Henna

on 2/10/2018 10:57:00 PM

I used the whole block on my hair which is just past shoulder length but insanely thick. The smell was definitely not as bad as I thought it was going to be going by how others had reviewed it (a mix of wet grass and tea is pretty accurate for this colour at least, maybe the other caca colours smell better/worse?) I also used this on virgin medium brown hair since this is my first dye since growing out a pixie cut. I didn't find it difficult to use at all as long as you PREP! Newspaper or an old sheet is a 100% MUST for the floor of your bathroom, or to make it easier just apply it while sitting in the bathtub if possible. While you are applying this you will come to see it's very similar to mud. Like mud, when it starts to dry, it will fall of in clumpy bits to the floor. I did have a few stains on my bare feet but who cares.
I didn't use a dye brush which I would definitely do next time as if you only use your fingers it's tough to get the mud right to your scalp. A plus though, you can always just break off a small part of a block, prepare it and do touch ups or corrections.
Rinsing: I had zero difficulty rinsing as I followed the advice of another reviewer and filled the tub up and dipped my whole head in to let the mud chunks fall off by themselves for the most part (Still wearing gloves!!!!) after that i drained the tub and went at it with a handheld sprayer and then another round of head dunking. Washed out with my regular shampoo which got everything I had missed and conditioned as normal.
I used the plastic wrap method ( for 3 1/2 hours) as I was aiming for a more red colour and It came out great!!!! Looks very natural and I'm pleased with it. I would repurchase as I do not want to get back into chemical dyeing and this left my hair looking and feeling great.

Pros: GREAT colour, natural option, cruelty free, no waste packaging
Cons: Time consuming (you'll need at least 4-5 hours) can be messy if not organized, I don't think this will work very well on dark hair if you are looking for drastic results

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH -Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion

I have to admit that I bought this product due to the hype that it helps you fall asleep. The smell is actually very relaxing, perfect for slathering on yourself after showering at night. I usually put this on my arms and legs before going to bed and the lavender scent helps me relax and get ready for bed. It's just a nice pick-me-up product that does what any other lotion does. The scent and the gorgeous light purple color is what really makes it special. I wouldn't use it during the day though because I find that the scent is not for day wear.

Shampoo -LUSH -soak 'n' float shampoo bar

So I have been suffering with flaky scalp for nearly a year and I recently tried salt on my scalp which actually really helped and helped a lot with the problem. However I decided to buy this as it was raved about and I thought it would still benefit me despite my issue seeming to have reduced quite a lot a few days before. After washing this out my hair it felt like chewing gum? It is a bizarre feeling and I have heard others say this before because of some of the ingredients in it however it was highly recommended by most people still so I kind of let it slide even though it can't be that great for your hair/head if your hair ends up like that. After conditioning it was okay but I noticed out of nowhere that my flaky scalp had come back just like before and this was the only thing that I had changed in my hair routine. I tried it 2 more times after this just to check and see if it would perhaps get worse before it got better but nothing changed. My scalp has been itchy ever since and I have gone back to my other hair routine which is reducing the flakiness situation but still not overall gone yet. Hopefully I will find a long term product solution for my scalp issues.

I have given this 2 stars instead of 1 because it has no plastic packaging which is another reason I was attracted to this product and I was also told this will give you a lot more uses than their bottled shampoo.
