Cleansers -LUSH -Kalamazoo

on 9/18/2018 7:14:00 AM

I have to start by saying that even though this is specifically meant for bearded guys, I tried it because I heard great things about it being a nice cleanser for girls as well. So, this review will be about my experience with it as a cleanser, not the beard wash it was meant to be. I'll have to pass it on to my boyfriend to see if it works as it should. As for me, I was not impressed.

It comes in a tub, which is fine, and smells pretty good, like sweet citrus. It feels really smooth, which I didn't like. I like to feel some kind of exfoliant when I wash my face, even if it's super light. With this, I felt like I was just rubbing a thick hair conditioner over my face (which makes sense if you remember that this is meant for beards).

I've been using it for about a month. Once in the morning when I shower, and again at night after I've removed my make-up. I wet my face and rubbed this all over then rinsed it off. I did feel like it cleaned my skin, but not as well as other cleansers. There were a few times where it left my face feeling a little itchy, and other times where it left behind dry/dead skin. It just wasn't a good match for me. I'll be sticking to LUSH's Dark Angels for now.

I think it's worth trying if you're still searching for something, since everyone is different, but I won't be buying it again.

Bath Treatments -LUSH -Creamy Candy Bubble Bar

on 9/17/2018 1:55:00 AM

Creamy Candy is a lovely sweet scented bubble bar from Lush which smells like candy (obviously), bubblegum and vanilla. The scent is strong and lingers on the skin for some time after bathing. Creamy Candy also turns the bathwater a bright shade of pink, which is great. It creates bubbles, but the bubbles are not as plentiful as from other Lush bubble bars, however it is still enough bubbles for a regular size tub. The bubbles last a long time also, which is great. I only use half a bar at a time, which is great as this is one of Lush’s cheaper bath products and is great value for money. I would definitely repurchase this bubble bar and would recommend it to anyone who love sweet scents.

Shampoo -LUSH -Godiva Shampoo Bar

I wanted to love this for all obvious reasons - it’s eco friendly and smells divine - but it made my hair terribly unmanageable. I was told I had to try it a few times in order to get my hair used to it, but it just made it more and more frizzy. Maybe this shampoo is just not the best thing for thick, frizzy hair, or maybe I just didn’t give it enough time, but it just didn’t work for me.

Cleansers -LUSH -Fresh Farmacy Cleanser Bar

on 9/14/2018 6:56:00 AM

As it's plain to see from the ingredients list on this product this thing is a BOMB. It will get rid of most of the oil in your face - EVEN the oil that you NEED, so beware. This is the rare Lush skincare product that I've found actually works as advertised, probably a little better than wanted, in fact. Maybe it was my fault for not following the instructions given to me by the Lush staff, but I used it twice a day for maybe 10 days and it *changed* my skin type semi-permanently, from oily/combo to combo/dry (it's just now returning to a status similar to the original). I didn't even know that was possible, but there you go.
Would recommend against using this as a daily cleanser unless you're super oily, but as an alternate cleanser or as a localized treatment for spots/shiny areas, it's great.

Cleansers -LUSH -Herbalism

on 9/14/2018 6:50:00 AM

Used this for almost two years straight, every day. I'll say this for Herbalism, it never broke me out, unlike Angels on Bare Skin, nor it sucked my skin dry like Fresh Farmacy, and works as a mild scrub, which I enjoy. Other than that, like most Lust skincare products it doesn't do much, so you can get away with using it if your skin is agreeable enough and if you like the whole fair trade/environmentalist brand image cultivated by Lush but don't expect it to revolutionize your skin. Luckily I don't need a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to my skincare products, as a result of my normal/combo skin. Went in for my first facial after using it for years and my beautician confirmed that it had done little for my skin. For the price you'll be better off buying a basic drugstore cleanser, and it may do more for your pores than Herbalism. Also, the smell is a little pungent but you definitely get used to it.
