Lipstick -L'Oreal -Colour Riche Shine Lipstick - Varnished Rosewood

on 2/25/2018 8:37:00 PM

I love this lipstick. It's a brownish pink, very MLBB. It's smooth and moisturizing, with decent staying power, though keep in mind it's not super long wearing due to the glossy texture. For the glossy look, it doesn't feel sticky but more like a balm. The packaging feels substantial, elegant. There's a mild scent, but barely noticeable for L'Oréal lipsticks.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal -Infallible - Amber Rush

Great dupe to Urban Decay's discontinued Deluxe Eyeshadow color "Shag."
Thought it would be too frosty, but it's not. Great base color to use with other colors. Good application without shimmers flying all over the play.

Conditioner -L'Oreal -Elvive - Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Conditioner

This is basically a Garnier product in a L'Oreal bottle. L'Oreal owns Garnier, so I'm not surprised to see some dup products in their grab bag, but I am surprised they didn't change the scent. That green apple scent is a dead give away when product was meant for Garnier. I'm not a huge fan of the famous green apple scent. In this case, it has a hidden benefit though.

When I picked up this conditioner I was hoping for something along the lines of Aussie Curing Muddy, which was discontinued a long time ago and which I liked a lot. The L'Oreal edition is billed as being good for oily scalp and dry ends, which is my exact hair type - I have a naturally sebaceous scalp and I color my hair so the ends get dry. The consistency of the conditioner is nothing like the Curing Muddy, which actually tried to emulate mud. It's a light cream consistency like just about any other 'cone free conditioner in the drugstore. It is nice to be able to condition without worrying about getting it too close to my scalp for a change, I'll give it that.

What I found out this product is really useful for, kind of by accident, is second day hair. Unlike a lot of other conditioners, the scent remains strong through a second day, and it won't get that weird greasy sheen that silicone conditioners tend to get on the second day. If you need that kind of performance, give this one a try. I... don't really need that kind of performance, so I'm not going to repurchase. But I didn't feel it would be a complete review without mentioning that.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal -Infallible Paints

Saw these on ULTA site and threw a couple into my cart. I honestly wasn’t expecting much but have to say these are really great. It is a double ended cream shadow with a doe foot applicator. The two I purchased were Fish Net and Cool Ivory, as I am always on the lookout for a replacement to my beloved Chanel Cream Eyeshadow that was my mainstay until discontinued about 10 years ago.

These are described as being waterproof, long wearing, etc. I cannot attest to the claim of it being waterproof, but they are sweat proof and do wear exceptionally well without budging for about 14-16 hours, until I take my make-up off.

The colors I got were neutral, and with the intention of swiping on a single color and adding eyeliner for a quick eye. I plan to try additional colors and see how they blend using more than a single color on my eyes.

As far as application, I just swiped with the applicator and blended with my finger, let it dry and then added a thick line of black liner with a slight wing on my upper lid only and a couple of coats of mascara...nice look in under 2 minutes.

Liquid -L'Oreal -Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation

Shade selection was terrible. Found one too dark and one too light but no shade in between. Price point is a bit pricey for drugstore. Packaging is good, squeeze tube is equivalent to pump. The fact that I had to buy two to blend the colours to find a match was kind of a rip off, but besides that, finish is awesome. I don't need to set with powder, best matte drugstore foundation I've found.
