Conditioner -L'Oreal -Advanced Haircare - Total Repair 5 Conditioner

on 11/22/2017 2:33:00 AM

At first I was pretty disappointed with this. I was trying to save money on Kerastase and Oribe and I remembered my hairstylist once told me that L'Oreal products in general are good - and that nutrition is more important than product anyway. So, at first I was disappointed with this because unlike with my Kerastase or Oribe conditioners my hair was super frizzy after using this (with my Kerastase Elixir Ultime Shampoo, which I feel is pretty non-drying) and much drier. I was afraid it was going to break if I kept using it. It felt like more of a shampoo than a conditioner really, albeit slightly moisturizing.

So, so as not to waste it, I decided to try it as a co-wash/shampoo+conditioner type deal since it felt more like a shampoo anyways. I think as a conditioner after a shampoo it's too drying for me. It's an OK level of moisture if you have fine, oily hair - like I do - but not if it's also pretty delicate and breaks easily, like mine does. You can't strip away so much of your natural oils.

Using this alone I end up with the perfect level of cleanliness, moisture, volume, and bounciness. Maybe even better than with Oribe and Kerastase, which sometimes do weigh my waves down too much. Perfect fix - and now I save money on conditioner and shampoo : )

Oh and it smells coconut-y, which I love.

Mascara -L'Oreal -Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

- the large, fluffy brush gives length and volume that is almost as good as too faced better than sex. i've gotten so many compliments on my lashes while using this.
- that packaging!!
- no flaking. when i used BTS it would start flaking within like 3 hours of wear. i regularly wear lash paradise to work when i have 8-10 hour days and i've experienced not a single flake.

- i find that the brush tends to get clumpy and you have to take the time/care to apply it properly if you want to get a good look. this is probably not an effortless, just-swipe-it-on-and-go mascara.
- i have oily eyelids and sometimes the mascara will start to smudge on my upper lids if i wear it too long. i have never tried a mascara that doesn't do this at least occasionally.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal -Revitalift Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer

I received a nice sample pack with enough product for 14 days and nights which was very generous and perfect for testing a product out! I wish more companies would do this. Each day worth of product was individually sealed and one packet was enough for morning and night. It did have a scent but was not overwhelming and dissipated quickly.
That being said I did use it both night and day for the entire 14-day trial.

You do not need much product to cover your whole face. I was able to cover my face and bring it down my neck slightly and use the rest on the back of my hands. I did not continue use all the way down my neck because it did cause me to break out here and I did not feel like it sank into the skin well in this area.
On my face, it sank in rather quickly and left my skin well moisturized without feeling too greasy or uncomfortable. During the night it was perfect but for daytime use is did cause me to become more shiny than normal and caused my eye makeup to smudge onto my undereye area. It also did not have SPF so personally, I would not reach for a moisturizer and a separate SPF product for the day.
I enjoyed it much better as a night cream even better than that it worked well as a moisturizer for under the eye when used in a light layer.
I did not notice any significant firming, smoothing of any roughness, or anti-wrinkle benefits but what I did notice was my skin was moisturized and plumper, however, not really any younger looking or firmer. It did work best at helping my dry, crepey, fine lines in my undereye area that had been left over from using another product. It did not eliminate it completely but thankfully it is much better than before. Another good sidenote was the skin on the back of my hands looks lovely!
When I initially began using it did cause me to break out and I even got a painful breakout under my eye in the dark circle area which I had never had before. It did heal quickly but I did break out a few more times with large red, round, and painful blemishes on the surface of my skin around my chin, cheeks near my nose, outer eye area, and above my brows too. With continued use, it did calm down a little after the first week when my skin seemed to become more used to the product.
Due to no real benefit to my skin as far as helping with discoloration, firming, etc. and because it caused breakouts I would not purchase this product.

Mascara -L'Oreal -Telescopic Mascara

I can't even give a decent review of the formula, because after only a few uses the brush tip bent so far to the side that it became a job just to reinsert it into the tube. I didn't like the brush itself, the bristles are hard plastic and managed to get product all over my lash line but not necessarily on my lashes (which are short, thin and sparse, and not the easiest to work with). The formula is on the wet side which made messes worse. So, nope, will not purchase again. Whoever engineered the tube opening needs to go back to the drawing board - it's too narrow to accommodate a flexible brush end.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal -Infallible - Amber Rush

I think this might be one of the most universally flattering shimmery eyeshadow you can get at a drugstore - so glad I bought it. For reference my skin tone is NC30-35 with yellow undertone.

I have heard about the hype surrounding MAC's Tan pigment and how this is the exact dupe for it and only about 1/3 of the price, so when I got it I was very impressed. First of all the pan is deceptively huge - you get 3.5g when a regular eyeshadow runs about half the size of less. Secondly the color - it really is beautiful. It is a gorgeous pinky bronze color that I can see how everyone would like it. One Youtuber mentioned that sometimes she will wear it by itself but I have yet to try that. I still would add a bit of a dark brown and my outer corner to add some depth. I found this to be best applied with your finger - I tried brush and it just doesn't give the same color payoff. Something to think about. It also stays on all day with the primer - I love it.

To sum it up this is the perfect lazy day/5 minute makeup eyeshadow for me. I won't hesitate to recommend this to anyone and now it got me interested in other shades from this line.
