Scrubs -L'Oreal Paris -Pure-Sugar Nourish & Soften Cocoa Scrub

on 12/10/2018 9:44:00 AM

I like this. I picked it up on sale and was wanting a scrub that wouldn't irritate my skin and provide some moisture, and this does the trick. I find it a bit steep for $12 or so, but when it's on sale or I have a coupon, sure. The packaging is nice, with the glass jar, etc., so it does seem a bit more luxe than some goop in a plastic container. For those who don't like to dip a finger into a scrub or cream for the risk of contaminating the contents, this will be a con rather than a pro. I'm not wild about it either, but I try and wash my hands before dipping a finger inside and scooping out some of the scrub.

The contents are nice, though. Inside the scrub looks a lot like if you'd mixed brown sugar and butter. It feels and smells a bit that way, too, and you can pick up the coconut and cocoa butter scents along with it. It's a gentle exfoliant, and it feels effective in spite of that. It rinses off easily with water and leaves the skin feeling moisturized. I'm not sure if it's soothing, but it doesn't aggravate my skin and makes it feel/look a tiny bit better.

For a little pampering boost, this is a nice way to go. It also works nicely on the lips, too, as a gentle scrub. It's not a miracle in a jar, but it's not hyped as one either. It promises a bit of nourishing and softening and it gives that (albeit more temporary, like most masks offer).

Mascara -L'Oreal Paris -Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

on 12/9/2018 6:39:00 PM

Overall I like this for a drugstore mascara. The formula is a bit dry and it applies smoothly without clumping. It does a decent job thickening my lashes, and it's okay for lengthening. I really like the brush, too.
It doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes at all and I have no flaking with it, either.
I love the case; it looks classy.

Misc Beauty Tools -L'Oreal Paris -Infallible Blending Sponge

on 12/8/2018 1:43:00 PM

I adore the Beauty Blender (BB), was convinced nothing could come close, and only got this to hit the minimum shipping for Ulta (was BOGO50).

Turns out I was wrong. This sponge is a gem! It’s diffrent from the BB but in ways I am thrilled about.

1) It’s bigger - I have a big face (I know - odd - but I accept it) and this reduces application time by half
2) It’s bottom is a bit flattened - This also helps with application speed as more surface area
3) It’s squishier when wet - allowing you to pinch the top and get precise around nose and under eye
4) It’s cheaper - If you get looks for sales and use a couple you can easily get five of these for the cost of one Beauty Blender

I clean all my sponges by throwing them in a lingerie bag and running them through laundry. These hold up to that beautifully.

So net, this is a dupe worth trying and may even win your cheap, big faced, lazy heart as it did mine!

Foundations -L'Oreal Paris -Infallible Pro-Glow 24HR Foundation

on 12/8/2018 3:37:00 AM

I really love the finish of this foundation ! It’s one of the best very dewy & radiant . I have oily skin though so this foundation tends to turn me into a slippery oily mess like 3 or 4 hours in . With the right primer or powder though I think I could make it work , another bummer is the shade range is pretty small & seems so only cater to people with cool or neutral undertones only . I have the shade creamy natural & the colour is okay but it makes me look very white but when I tried the shade above I looked way too tan , so someone with cool or neutral undertones with dry skin this would be nice for you . I still give 3 stars cause I still use it it’s easy , blendable good coverage & high luminosity just doesn’t hold back oil or have shades for people with yellow undertones :(

Brows -L'Oreal Paris -Brow Stylist Frame & Set

on 12/6/2018 10:00:00 AM

This is my all time favorite brow product!!! This is truly an effective ABH brow pomade dupe or alternative. Up until I used the L’Oréal frame & set I was using an eyebrow pencil and my brows were not looking natural but bold, they were looking very boxy, BUT frame & set let’s me use more natural strokes (btw I really like the brush that comes with it). I feel like the product dries up in the container too quickly though but idk if that’s a problem for these types of products in general.
