Concealers -L'Oreal Paris -True Match Super-Blendable Multi-Use Concealer

on 11/13/2018 10:45:00 PM

Holy freaking grail. I like to buy cosmetics; I live for the new products because every so often one is like this - perfect for me. I am not sure if this is a new product, a re-package or a re-formulation of the True Match Super-Blend but I grabbed it this summer. I first bought N1 (I think it’s just ‘1’ not ‘1-2’ but I can’t see tiny white writing on a clear cap) but it was far too yellow, C1 is pretty much perfect (no freakish pink undertones!)

The package is idiotic - annoying little fuzzball applicator that wiggles excessively when you apply it (versus Maybelline’s for example, which is very fixed and does not wiggle), unacceptably small amount of product, and, as ever with clicks sticks, you have to click a dozen times before product comes out initially (and then you waste a gob). It works so well - I always think the color looks a bit pale-bright at first, I put my single ply tissue over my face and set it with a little loose powder and forget about it. It is as though my face’s naturally occurring oils “bakes” this on and so long as I don’t touch my undereyes, I arrive at the end of the day with the most porcelain undereye area ever. It’s just unreal. If it was advertised as a new product, I missed it, but it is so my ideal product (except that packaging! Yuck!). I will buy it again, TYVM.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal Paris -Infallible 8HR Pro Gloss

The coral sands color is a nice nude color with neutral slight shimmer. I like the triangle shaped doe foot since it seems easier and more precise to apply. Does it last 8 hours? No I don't think any gloss does, but it does have a tacky feel to make it last a bit longer than normal. The major turn off for me is the nasty, plastic chemical scent and taste. It is so strong I can smell it even after application. I am not usually too sensitive about scents, but the scent is a major no for me so I would not repurchase. Although I love the color, the smell is bad enough to make me consider throwing it out.

Liquid -L'Oreal Paris -True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17

I wanted to like this product. It sounds perfect for me and my skin on paper. First issue: I could not find a colour match. None of my local stores have the complete range and none of the ones I tried were a great match - close but slightly off each time. Second issue: It's really, really runny and light coverage. I wanted light -medium coverage but this was pretty much as light as my BB cream and I couldn't build it without it catching dry patches. Third issue: It didn't really set and transferred badly whenever I touched my face. If I set with powder I lost the nice finish and it accentuated dry patches.

I liked the dewiness of the product and the packaging was ok (the pump seemed to get a bit messy). I ended up mixing this product in with other foundations to use it up. I'd consider repurchasing and giving it another go if I could find the right shade and test it out first.

Bath Treatments -L'Oreal Paris -Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition All Over Honey Balm

on 11/12/2018 4:03:00 AM

I really wanted to love the new L'ORÉAL Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition All Over Honey Balm.  This balm comes in a nice convenient squeeze tube and smooths over skin easily.  It takes a few minutes to absorb, like most balms.  What I like about this balm is that it does contain manuka honey, shea butter, beeswax, apricot kernel oil.  What I really lisked about this is the amount of fragrance, and the fact that it takes a long time to dissipate.  If you don't mind fragrance this obviously won't be an issue for you.  I wouldn't recommend using it on your face too much since it has a very thick texture and ingredients that can potentially clog pores, but using it on other dry areas helps to heal them and retain moisture,  Wish it wasn't so scented.  My search for a good skincare balm continues. My video review can be seen here:

Mascara -L'Oreal Paris -False Lash Superstar

I love the way this product makes my lashes look but it is so irritating. It smudges and flakes within just a few hours of application, causing my eyes to look red and bloodshot. I thought it was potentially my contacts causing the issue, but it is without a doubt this mascara since the same problems pop up when I am wearing my glasses.

While I do not love the primer itself (since I feel like it weighs my lashes down) when combined with the mascara, it really does make my lashes fatter and longer. The fan effects are really pretty and I love the shape of the brush, which helps define the lashes.

It is a really good mascara if it does not irritate your eyes, but sadly this is going in the trash. I'm so bummed because I really wanted to love this. The dual ends make it a perfect mascara for traveling.
