Mascara -L'Oreal - Butterfly Intenza Mascara

on 10/19/2017 8:27:00 PM

I liked the original Voluminous mascara - even after trying all the high priced favorites, it's better...and I really liked the Butterfly Sculpt; the weird eggbeater-shaped brush grabbed my skimpy lashes and even made those on my left eye (which for some reason always point down) flutter upwards. I won't use a lash curler, and with Butterfly Sculpt, I didn't need one. Finally! Then, stupidly, I bought L"Oreal Feline thinking it might do even more. I ended up using the Butterfly Sculpt brush with the Feline mascara, thinking the Voluminous formula was the same and it was the terrible Feline brush making the difference, but the formula seemed drier and ended up giving out in a matter of months - unheard of. So I went out and got the Butterfly Intenza. This does even a little more than the Butterfly Sculpt and with no effort - one coat or two, quickly. This will be my mascara from now on - no more detours! I have older, thinner lashes, and this makes them definitely noticeable. As close to false as possible.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Feline

on 10/19/2017 8:19:00 PM

I bought this mascara as I have always found Voluminous mascaras to be the best, despite trying all the high-priced favorites. I was using the Butterfly Sculpt, which I liked a lot. I should have stuck with it, but I thought the Feline might be even better. BIG mistake. The brush didn't get to my lashes at all - it was like I was using cotton swab to apply it. I ended up almost from day one using the old Butterfly Sculpt brush with it. Then, on top of everything else, it didn't last. Yeah yeah yeah - I know you're supposed to discard mascara every three months, but I use it until it runs out, and even though I use it every day, that's usually months and months, or a year. This ran dry within a couple of months. Don't know what the heck L'Oreal is thinking with this one. I went out and got the Butterfly Intenza - back to greatness!

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup

I live where it's sunny and dry pretty much throughout the year, and I'm not getting any younger. A lot of moisturizer makes the foundation rub off, and facial oils give me whiteheads. So, I use this (1 pump is enough to cover my face) and dust a tiny bit of powder, and I'm so happy. If you want a really good coverage, you might want to apply 2 or 3 coats of this product. For dry skin, this is neither greasy nor heavy. I'm really impressed. As for the shade, "N 1-2" is perfect for my NC 15-20 skin.

Foundations -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Blur Foundation

The foundation doesn't work. I've tried it many times. I have oily skin but this somehow still manages to cling to all my dry spots and look ridiculous on me. The concealer however, is fantastic. I actually use that as a full coverage foundation. It blends into the skin like a dream. This foundation however.. I'd pass on it.

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Revitalift Miracle Blur

on 10/19/2017 11:02:00 AM

PROS: Definitely blurs pores and fine lines; includes sunscreen, if you don't already use one; packaging works well; doesn't cause breakouts, and I get them with many products

CONS: This stings my skin :( I suspect the chemical sunscreens; a bit pricey for my budget

I apply this occasionally before special events since it stings--but it definitely works; it's not terribly painful but enough to decrease usage.
