Hair Color -L'Oreal -Superior Preference Hair Colour

It is the end of summer and my naturally light brown hair was getting lighter from the sun, the swimming and the chlorine (since I live in FL). Oddly, the John Frieda colors I was alternating between 7g and 6 were never really that brassy, but holy Hannah, the herbal instincts 7g was. I actually had such flaming hot roots I was horrified. My 12 yr old didn’t want to be seen with me. I then toned it from Sally’s will two wella toners. This was getting spendy. Note: if most toning for blondes recommends 20 v, if I had to do it again I would have done 10v. Still brassy, still orange. Enter L’Oréal performing preference ‘cools’line 3 C cool brown. I figured any permanent blue and/or green undertones has to help. Box dye comes with 20v developer anyhow so for people like me who pull orange, know that you need an ash or cool to counteract that. So long story short, this dye fixed what semipermanent herbal instincts 7g ruined, what Sally’s count fix with toner. Is it drippy? Yes so be careful. Smell? Eh. Kept window open. 9 bucks a box and I needed 2? Ok. Overall Two thumbs up!

Lipstick -L'Oreal -Les Chocolats - Dose Of Cocoa [848]

Dose of Cocoa is a peach-but-also-beige-based nude tone, that will work all year round, with any eye makeup look. The shade seems to adapt to different skintones [going of blogs and vlogs] due to the mixed base, so I'm thinking that anyone can wear it.

The formula is the same as it is for the previous shade I reviewed in this line, so forgive how similar it is; the formula is not-too-wet, but not-too-dry, so it applies easily for a liquid lipstick and dries pretty quickly. You get the easy application, strong colour and good staying power of a traditional bullet lipstick, without the drag or the heavy & drying feeling you can get from a bullet lipstick. As a liquid-based formula you get a soft & moisturized feeling and pleasant scent/taste of a gloss, without the sticky and slippy feeling you ge from a glossy formula. I want to give a shout-out to tip of the wand; it's a hollow heart shape, so it has a hole in the center which makes it next-to-impossible for formula to gunk up and overload the applicator.

I highly recommend picking up at least one shade from the 12-piece Les Chocolats matte liquid lipstick line to everyone. I already own too many lipsticks for one person to go through in a lifetime, but I'm extremely tempted to take advantage of the 3-for-2 offers both Boots and Superdrug are currently offering on L'Oreal cosmetics to pick up more shades from this line, since both of the shades I have are consistent in quality.

Mascara -L'Oreal -Voluminous Original

foto

I haven't tried a l'oreal mascara from the voluminous group that I didn't like. It's all so amazing! The original one adds the perfect length and volume, and holds up all day long. No flakes, smudges, just beautiful, full lashes! This, and the l'oreal voluminous feline are my favorites. I'm going to be trying the voluminous paradise one soon. Wish me luck! (so far, all l'oreal mascara's are my favorite of not only the drugstore brands, but the high end ones as well).

Eyeliner -L'Oreal -Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner

I love the gel, I hate the pencil material, of plastic. It ruined my sharpener. HOWEVER, I ALMOST THREW IT OUT AFTER 2 USES BECAUSE THE SPIN AT THE BOTTOM DIDN'T PUSH UP THE PENCIL. i CAME HERE AND SAW OVER 300 PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING AND LOREAL SAYING ITS REALLY JUST LIKE A PENCIL THAT YOU SHARPEN.THIS SHOULD BE STATED IN YOU DESCRIPTION. Instead of making us look for it. How many people threw this out like I almost did and will never buy anything loreal again?

Toners -L'Oreal -Fine Flowers Toner

I used this for a good 3-4 weeks before stopping. Over time my skin became very sensitised to this toner, causing my face to break out and burn after application. It was a VERY heavily scented toner, which smelt like dish detergent to me. The consistency was also really strange; it was like watered-down jelly, rather than a typical watery consistency like standard toners I've used before.

After using this it, it left an unpleasant tacky feeling to my skin, which probably explains the burning sensation I felt after use as I can only assume it must have left some residue on my skin.

One good thing - if you find you can get on with this and it doesn't affect your skin - the bottle is HUGE! You get 400ml and I think I only paid about £4.99 for it, which is really good value for money.

Finally, although this claims to be for dry and sensitive skin, I definitely wouldn't recommend it for either types based on my experience whilst using it.
