Brows -L'Oreal -Brow Stylist Frame & Set

on 1/17/2018 9:23:00 PM

I bought this, having loved the Milani brow pomade and having seen reviews that called them virtually identical. Unfortunately, they are not. While this product didn't suck, it just wasn't as good. The pomade dries out fairly quickly- even when kept tightly capped- and starts to go on crumbly. I had noticed with the Milani version, it still spread evenly and kept a creamier texture even when it had started to inevitably dry in the pot. If I could give this 3.5 lippies, I would. It's not bad, and the spoolie/brush combo that it comes with is pretty solid. I just known I can find better at a competitive price point.

Dry Shampoo -L'Oreal -Elvive Extraordinary Clay Clay-to-Spray Dry Shampoo

on 1/17/2018 2:43:00 PM

Fragrance in a can. This is horrendous as a dry shampoo, it does literally nothing except spray the strongest perfume-y fragrance into my hair and it's like...what did I just do? Not a thing. I picked this up on clearance for $4.50 at Walmart, the sales associate told me it was being discontinued and now I understand why...this stuff sucks.

Lipstick -L'Oreal -Colour Riche in Fairest Nude

on 1/17/2018 12:00:00 PM

I really wanted to like this, but I wouldn't recommend this for those with yellow tones in their skin, as it washes me out. Fairest Nude is also slightly lighter than my lip color - the formulation is grippy and waxy. Not a fan. But for everyone else who can pull this off, good on you!

Masks -L'Oreal -Detox & Brighten Mask Pure Clay Mask

on 1/17/2018 9:28:00 AM

After just one use, this mask got me rid of three very stubborn pimples that have been resurfacing on my forehead for weeks. It could be a coincidence, technically, but I'm 99% sure it was because of the mask.
But, enough about those particular pimples (burn in hell, little suckers, I won't miss you!). After using this, my skin feels clean, soft and brighter and my pores appear visibly smaller, even some really large ones on my nose. It takes a surprisingly small amount of product to cover the whole face. Also, unlike a lot of clay masks that feel too rough and abrasive against the skin while you wash them off, this one feels creamy and gentle.
Keep in mind this product has a rather strong smell. I personally don't mind it and even find it pleasant but I can see how it could be off putting for people with more sensitive noses.

Mascara -L'Oreal -Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

I promised myself I’d be faithful to Urban Decay Perversion, but I am a serial adulteress when it comes to mascara. I just can’t help wondering if there’s something better out there - if there really is such a thing as The One. I have kissed a lot of frogs and found a few...barons and earls and such, if not actually a prince (after Estée Lauder killed my true love in the 90s). This isn’t a frog. I can’t remember how it came to my attention, but it was on offer for about £5 and I thought the packaging was cute. The tube is super light and excellent for travelling (one lives in my handbag for emergencies). The brush is soft and brushy, not a horrid scratchy plastic thing, and separates my lashes really nicely. The formula itself is great to apply, suitably black, slightly on the drier side, and gives a feathery look that’s still natural(ish). I don’t know what would happen if you started slapping hundreds of coats on, because I’m still partially trapped in 1990 (come on, Violator, if nothing else) and get twitchy about more than one coat for daytime. It’s a brilliant work mascara, almost weightless to wear and doesn’t smudge or flake. My only criticism would be that a tube doesn’t last me very long - I’m guessing it’s light cos it’s half empty.
