Styling Products -L'Oreal Paris -Stylista Sleek

on 9/18/2018 9:10:00 PM

Stylista sleek serum is like a super light hold gel combined with a siliconey serum. It’s hard to apply too much, 2 pumps on my lob while wet, while my daughter’s hair takes 3-4. It works nicely to help frizzy, lightly wavy hair have some shine and less baby hair halo. It seems to be a decent heat protectant, I haven’t had a lot of end breakage on the bleached sections of hair. The scent is like a berry crossed with a clean salon-y smell, it doesn’t give me a headache and is inoffensive. For how nicely it works in my child’s wildly dry and frizzy hair, I’d rebuy.

Hair Color -L'Oreal Paris -Couleur Experte -hair dye / highlight

I’m happy with the finger applicator and that it’s relatively easy to get extra dimensions without hair looking too “done”. This one costs more at the drugstore but for the application, it’s worth it.

Lipstick -L'Oreal Paris -Color Riche Matte 640 Erotique

on 9/18/2018 4:10:00 PM

I wish Erotique was carried in US markets, but sadly it's not.

I'm the sort of person who does extensive shade research on lipsticks before committing to buy, and that's what I definitely did before buying Erotique. (I got this new from eBay UK for about $11!) The online photos did it justice, and I'm so glad I got this right as summer is transitioning over to fall! It's a drop-dead gorgeous dusty rose that's ALMOST a dead ringer for Chanel's Coco Rouge in Mademoiselle. The differences are that Erotique is matte and more pinky-rose, while Mademoiselle is more nude-brown and satiny. I would say Erotique lasts slightly longer than Mademoiselle because it's a matte.

As a matte, the danger really is just that Erotique may look powdery on your lips, which you can fix with layering on a bit of balm. I also combined this lipstick with Rimmel's lipliner in Wild Clover and it's SUCH a fantastic and sophisticated lip look.

Mascara -L'Oreal Paris -Telescopic Mascara

Longtime fave! I love this mascara, because I can very quickly build volume, length, and definition. No need to apply layer after layer! The slim brush is awesome for getting right to the base of lashes, although I have purchased a couple of tubes where the wand had broken off inside the tube (always check this before leaving the store's parking lot!). I prefer "Brown Black" but if I can't find that shade, I will use the basic "Black". No flaking or smudging, and it's easy to remove at night. Will repurchase!

Moisturizers -L'Oreal Paris -Hydra Genius (Normal/Dry Skin)

on 9/17/2018 12:05:00 PM

Hmm..I am a little perplexed that this has gotten such low ratings, but to each their own! :)
I *kinda* like this....I was looking via google for a hyaluronic acid moisturizer and while I was tempted by a couple of others, I decided to go with this one bc it is easily accessible at the big box store and reasonably priced, and truth be told, I seem to have luck with most L'oreal products.

As a few others have noted in their reviews, I am in the same boat, in that my skin can be oily, but the main issue for me is my skin on my nose (and sometimes my cheeks) getting dry patches. I also like something light, and this is light. Feels pleasant soon as applied, softens my skin, feels smoother, no tightness, just a soft suppleness. Convenient pump applicator, which is very appreciated. The only reason that I did not rate this a full 5-stars, is this has a perfume-smell to it that is quite potent while applying, and takes about 15 minutes before not being as strong of a smell. Why do some companies feel the need to make skin products smell like perfume??? If they are going to do that, I feel that they should label it as 'scented'.... Also, this did not seem to keep the dryness from rearing it's ugly head on my nose as the day went on (although the dry patches were not as noticeable, but they were still there). This is not a miracle product, nor did I think it would be, I just hoped it kept my dry spots at bay, and it really did not help. I think at best this is for normal skin and slightly dry. If you have pretty strong dry issues, you might need something else. But for normal skin, I think this would be great! If you don't mind the initial perfume smell.

All in all, I like this well enough and I will use it, but it's not my holy grail (still looking!), and I would not repurchase this.
