Foundations -Jouer Cosmetics -Essential High Coverage Creme foundation

I'm in love with this foundation! And, I managed to get a good color match after trial and error (which was way different than what I originally expected it to be based on the description = you MUST order the samples and swatch your heart out because this foundation should not be ordered sight unseen!).

This is Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer Foundation level coverage, but it isn't as thick and has way more color options. It is dryer than the KASSEF, though, so make sure to exfoliate, moisturize and prime, too, if you must.

I look flawless and it isn't moving! I'm a performer who sweats a LOT! So, full coverage foundation that looks natural and doesn't budge or, knock on wood so far, break me out in 50 shades (2 - TWO - of which I could easily wear), I'm in! I was going to buy more KASSEF, but then I'd have to purchase 8 or 11 AND 12 and MIX ($100)! So, I decided to try this and I'm so glad I did! YouTube swatches helped, but still didn't do enough for me to get the perfect shade. I would have thought I'd be Bronzed, which isn't a bad match, but it turns out I'm Golden Sand (which should really be in the tan category in my opinion as it is quite close to Bronzed but more yellow/golden, which is exactly what I need).

I got the combo of foundation and brush (which I didn't need since I have a full set of Artis brushes), but this one has a point and with 20% off and few shipping, the combo was cheaper than the foundation alone! They seem to have a lot of discount codes and ways to get them. #Winning

For color reference, I wear the following...:

MAC - NC42/43/44 (depending on the formula)

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick/ SKIN LONG-WEAR WEIGHTLESS FOUNDATION SPF 15
— Golden Natural (center of face)/Golden Honey (mixed/center/perimeter) - my BEST color matches, PERIOD.

NARS Weightless - Stromboli & Tahoe Mix (or, now, Valencia which they will hopefully add to the other lines - and, I may still add a drop of Stromboli for a slightly more yellow/olive undertone depending on my skin and season - only Bobbi ever seems yellow enough in tan and deeper tones)

Becca - Bamboo (slightly too yellow/dark in application, but ends up closely matching my body - both are rare!)

Kat Von D - Medium 62 (too warm/orange)

Black Up Full Coverage Cream - #2 & #3 (neither is perfect)

Alima W5/G6 mix

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick & Liquid - 410 Bisque W (good undertone, too light - center of face only) / 415 Bisque W - which could be more yellow, but is a good match

Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick - Caramel (too oily for Spring/Summer)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation - Caramel (great match, breaks me out - RETURNED)

Black Opal Foundation Stick - Rich Caramel (too dark, not yellow enough, gorgeous finish, breaks me out)

Cover FX Power Play Foundation - G+50 / G+60 mixed (looks good, brand me out terribly)

Fenty Pro Filt'r - #310 - a pretty good match and great for every day natural looking wear... Slightly too warm

Jouer Essential High Coverage Creme Foundation - Golden Sand is really good. I could maybe get away with Bronzed if I had no choice, but it isn't quite yellow enough.

Sephora Color ID#: 3Y08, 3Y09, 4Y08, 4Y09 and sometimes a 10 in both as the system isn't full proof and different formula wear and oxidize differently.

Color description: I am very yellow/golden tan, plus olive undertones with some warmth. Fun. Right. Lol.

Lipstick -Jouer Cosmetics -Long-Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick

I'm a fan! Ever since I received a sample of the universally wearable color "Lychee" in a Birch Box, I've been a devotee of Jouer's Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick. I probably have it in 20 colors and, with one exception, I *love* them all. I love the fact that I can apply it at 7:00 a.m., drink a couple of cups of coffee, bottles of water and eat lunch...and I still have enough color on my lips to look polished without reapplying. Of course, it will fade throughout the day, but enough color remains that I still look pulled-together. If I need to look especially good for some reason (an important meeting/presentation or a social event after work), I will reapply it. Otherwise, I'm no longer a slave to reapplication of my lipstick every few hours. (NB: In the morning I use a lip SPF 50 product underneath, but I nonetheless get good adhesion from Jouer.)

Despite the staying power, this formula is not drying and feels comfortable on my lips. Jouer has a large selection of great color choices (30-something at my last count); and I love the fact that on their website they show photos of each color on the arms of women who have different skin colors. I have a cafe au lait complexion, so it's extremely helpful for me to see what each color looks like on darker women. Also, Jouer's price makes it very affordable to buy every color my heart desires. Lastly, I like the packaging of Jouer's makeup, which allows me *play* (Ha!) by physically attaching various makeup items, thus creating customized portable self-compacts. Clever.

Did I say that I'm a fan? Big time!

Blush -Jouer Cosmetics -Cosmetics Blush Bouquet Dual Blush Palette

I got this blush duo in Adore, which has two shades: Adore Me, a matte warm muted medium peach, and Hold Me, a glowy warm nude. They are absolutely beautiful used separately and swirled together, or layered. I like using Hold Me first and layering Adore Me on top. The formula is incredibly buttery so putting Hold Me down first actually smooths out my cheek pores a bit and primes them for a little pop of color. Hold Me isn't so glowy that I can't use a highlighter as well - it's a very pretty, natural sheen. Adore Me is a lovely, warm peach that has just the right amount of pink so it doesn't go orange. For reference I'm NC20 and pale yellow. I really like this set and plan on getting the other warm pink to try out.

Lip Gloss -Jouer Cosmetics -High Pigment Lip Gloss - Sloane

This is my first purchase from Jouer and I'm hooked. I'm planning to buy more shades.

PROS:

1) I like the packaging. The long, rectangular tube has a groove on one side. The plastic is clear so you can see the color of the gloss, which is nice if you have several shades. It has a doe's foot applicator. The wiper is doing its job because I haven't had any trouble keeping the neck of the bottle clean. The cap clicks back into place and lines up perfectly with the edges of the base.

2) This is a beautiful peachy pink or "warm coral nude" as described by Jouer. It's a versatile color that I reach for constantly. Coverage is opaque rather than sheer.

3) It smells divine, like vanilla cake frosting.

4) It's not sticky at all. It feels plush and just as moisturizing as a balm. (But if you generously coat the lips, it has a slippery feel compared to a lipstick.)

5) It's a slightly better deal than MAC. MAC charges $17 for a 0.10 oz tube of Lipglass. Jouer gives you a bit more product for the same price, 0.21 oz for $17.

6) Vegan, also free of parabens and gluten.

CONS:

1) As you might expect, the color wears off easily when you eat, and it can transfer if you kiss someone's cheek or drink from a cup. That's the nature of glosses.

If you're interested in Jouer High Pigment Lip Gloss, check the Jouer site first because they have sales occasionally. This product is also available on Beautylish.com.

Highlighters -Jouer Cosmetics -Rose gold

I find Jouer's highlight formula to be pretty nice, so I am not sure if the reviewer before me got an old formula or a bad batch or something. It is very silky-smooth, and applies to a gorgeous, reflective, almost-metallic sheen. I don't find Rose Gold to be quite as metallic as Rose Quartz from the same brand, but it is still a much more blinding highlight than what a lot of other brands offer. The packaging is very nice, and you get a good amount of product for the price. I am quite pale, but I can pull this one off pretty easily as long as I am careful when I apply it; if you go in with too heavy of a hand it is very metallic/blinding, so it takes a little finesse to use for everyday. I would definitely repurchase this if I needed to, because it is somewhat unique and very pretty.
