Primer/ Corrector -Huda Beauty -Matte Perfection Pre Makeup Base

on 7/30/2018 5:29:00 PM

For the most part, this is a wonderful matte primer. I find that this primer is one that doesn't make skin feel super dry or contains a significant amount of denatured alcohol, which I can appreciate! This definitely extends wear time of foundation and also leaves skin feeling nice and ready for makeup application. This does contain fragrance so if you have super sensitive skin you might want to try it first, but the scent does dissipate quite quickly. Fyi- if you are interested here is a link to my review:

Eye Shadow -Huda Beauty - Obsessions Eye Shadow Palette - Warm Browns

foto

I have the Obsessions palette in 'Warm Brown' and 'Coral'. The likes: in each mini palette there are 9 highly pigmented and blendable colors that last (well over 8 hours on me). It's also light and compact enough to slip into my handbag and travel with me wherever I go. My only gripe is the glitters have a degree of fallout regardless of what primer (usually Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer potion) I use, however it's not such a biggie as it isn't major fallout. I picked mine up at Sephora during a stop over in Canada. Pricey for a small palette but worth it imo.

(I've sampled 100s of skin, hair and m/u products over the last decade and a half, as I'm constantly trying out new stuff all the time - usually sample/trial sizes from e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora. Thought it might be useful to share my top 10 must-have products, subject to change if and when I come across something more effective)

1. Hair Loss Treatment: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Hair Oil
2. Lip Balm: Jack Black - Intense Therapy
3. Pigmentation/Anti-Ageing: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Facial Treatment Serum
4. Cleanser: 'Aveda' - Purifying Gel Cleanser
5. Concealer: ‘Mac’ - Studio Finish Concealer
6. Lash Growth Serum: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Divinelash
7. Foundation/SPF: ‘Juice Beauty’ - Stem Cellular Repair (warm glow)
8. Face Scrub: ‘Sisley' - Botanical Gentle Buffing Cream
9. Moisturizer: ‘Antipodes' - Rejoice Light Day Cream
10. Hand Cream: 'Origins' - Make A Difference Rejuvenating Hand Treatment

Lipstick -Huda Beauty -Liquid Matte Lipstick

I found this to do a decent job of both hydrating my lips whilst adding colour - but without the feeling of having anything on my lips. My only gripe is it takes up to a minute to dry, although this could be due to the fact that I live in humidity-land where everything takes forever to dry. I also love that it is paraben-free and long-lasting - I don't have to keep reapplying. I use a lip scrub first (such as Fresh) and then apply this (Wild Child - sizzling neon pink and Vide star are my fave shades). A tad expensive compared to similar brands but as I'm happy with the results I will purchase again once I run out.

Foundations -Huda Beauty -Faux filter foundation

Pros:
- 30 shades with a range of undertones (I'm shade 110 Angel Food which is for ultra fair skin with a neutral undertone)
- Full/medium coverage
- Semi matte
- Hydrating
- Controls oils
- Doesn't cling to dry patches
- 1 pump covers whole face (1/2 a pump covers my face for medium coverage)
- Evens skin tone
- Beautiful ombre packaging and velvety boxing
This foundation really does live up to its name, when i wear it it truly looks like I'm using a face filter :D And this is the only foundation that matches my skin, out of the 10 foundations that i own.

Cons:
- Settles into some fine lines (smile lines)
- Enlarges pores
- Expensive
These are just somethings that happened to me when i wore this foundation, they might not happen to you. (I used the primer that is meant to be used with the foundation but it still din't blur pores as it claims)

*UPDATE*
I mixed the Huda Beauty primer and the Benifit porefessional primer in areas where i have large pores (my nose), and they vanished! The foundation no longer extenuated them and they were blurred.
Also, i found that applying the primer with a stippling brush, as opposed to my hands, made a big difference. It wasn't as thick and the foundation went on much smoother.

Loose Powders -Huda Beauty -Easy Bake Loose Powder

on 7/11/2018 4:51:00 AM

I truly have mixed feelings about the new HUDA BEAUTY Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder. The first thing you will notice when you open up the jar is the high amount of fragrance included in this powder, this includes five fragrance ingredients out of 15 ingredients total. The scent dissipates over the first hour or two of wear and it is a unique scent. The Easy Bake Loose Baking and Setting Powder does work best for use during "baking" the makeup around the under-eye area but can make my already dry eye area even more dry, I suspect those with normal or oily skin won't have the same issue. This does just an okay job all over the rest of the face but seemed to wash off parts of my foundation and make skin look drier.
