Stick -Hourglass -Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

on 3/18/2018 11:34:00 AM

I had been dying to get this foundation stick for months and had finally decided to splurge and give it a try. Have been using it for about 3 weeks now, and my end verdict is that I feel it was a huge waste of money.

Was advised by the sales assistant that this was extremely full coverage and easy/quick to apply. I found the coverage was maybe a 7/10. It covered the redness in my face, but not my red blemishes and acne scars. The coverage wasn't quite even as well - the foundation would just refuse to stick in certain spots on my face. I've tried with/without moisturiser and different primers and found no difference. The triangle stick made application to the face very easy, and the texture is nice and smooth so it does glide on. However blending was difficult for me as it felt as though it was tugging at my skin and "dragging" out rather than blending.
The finish was, however, really nice! Very natural and it didn't look like I had any foundation on. It did last through a whole 7 hour work shift where I moved around a lot, but it had rubbed off/faded in the areas I touched my face.

Hourglass states that just a few dots of the product would cover the whole face, but I found that wasn't the case AT ALL. I'd need 2-3 swipes in each area of my face minimum, then extra in the areas the foundation didn't manage to reach or cover properly. This made using this foundation stick a lot more bothersome and time-consuming compared to my regular liquid foundations, which I felt kind of defeated the purpose of this product (That it's supposedly quick and easy to apply).

I've use a real techniques and spectrum buffing brush and both didn't manage to stretch the foundation out enough to the extent that "a few dots" would be enough for a full face. Some people also recommended a beauty blender but it did not work for me. Hourglass does have a matching foundation brush to go with this foundation stick (Which is supposedly amazing), however it's another $64AUD which I am not willing to spend. A good product shouldn't have an extra price tag for it to work the way it is intended to.

Finally, the amount of product you get for how much you pay is absurd. I feel this would work more for those with an already flawless complexion, as the finish of the foundation is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't purchase this product again but am trying to make it work to make up for the amount of money I spent.

Eyeliner -Hourglass -1.5mm Mechanical Gel Pencil

on 3/17/2018 8:29:00 PM

Oof! I used this today and when I looked at my face when I came home early evening, I was Alice Cooper. Granted, it was snowing a little bit. But I didn't think that this eyeliner would just slide from the upper lid to my waterline and lower lash line, leaving a pale, ghost trace of the careful line that took me some time to draw this morning. I like my eyeliner to stay in place. If I wanted a smoky "fell asleep wearing mascara" look, I'd just go ahead and do it. Thank goodness I didn't actually pay for this (came in a seasonal gift bag with purchase) but I still hate it and won't use it again.

Lipstick -Hourglass -GIRL Lip Stylo in Achiever

on 3/10/2018 2:02:00 PM

I wonder if these have changed? I just bought a couple of these to treat myself for some personal goals and I am very disappointed.

The packaging is beautiful but the lipstick smears all over the stylo top. Additionally the top of the stylo pen is hard to get on the stylo just so. Mine tended to go on crookedly and I felt like I was going to break the tip of the lipstick.

The lipstick was very balm-like so the point of the lippie was dull after one swipe. Also the consistency was very creamy and moisturizing--all good--but in an hour the lipstick was gone from my lips. Gone! I bought 3 and this was true across the board. Did not stand up to drinking water out of a straw.

Due to all the positive reviews from here and Beautypedia I was really expecting a fantastic lipstick.

Primer/ Corrector -Hourglass -Ambient Light Correcting Primer

This is for the Dim light primer

A lovely light weight primer, very sheer in consistency but on my skin tone it blends out completely and not worth buying.
