Guerlain

Guerlain is a French perfume, cosmetics and skincare house. It was founded in 1828, when Pierre-Fran├žois Pascal Guerlain opened his perfume store at 42, rue de Rivoli in Paris.* The first flagship store opened in 1840. The business was handed down generation to generation, until it was purchased by LVMH in 1994. The products are available online and at retail makeup and department stores worldwide. *Source: Wikipedia

Fragrances -Guerlain -Eau De Fleurs De Cedrat

foto

Guerlain is my favorite perfume house. I have collected at least a dozen of their milder scents. that being said, I strongly dislike Shalimar and any of their efforts that are even in that direction with musky strong smells. Being a perfume fanatic is a little hard when you hate the smell of musk.

This one and Locctaine Verbana are my two very top favorites for summertime. I do wish this were not a cologne and lasted a lot longer. I will continue to buy this even with weak longevity and projection. Those two factors are usually VERY important to me but not this time. It is too beautiful to pass up. I would rather put it on hourly than not have this at all. It is truly a masterpiece in my opinion.

That being said, does anyone know of any other perfume that smells anything like this that is actually an edp or a strong edt?

Fragrances -Guerlain -Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde

on 6/14/2018 7:40:00 AM

On my skin this is 95% fig, 5% lime. The name should have been fig verde. It's nice and very natural smelling, but I have 2 fig perfumes by Roger et Gallet (which are great btw and excellent value for money) so I don't need another one.

Fragrances -Guerlain -Ambre Eternel

on 6/13/2018 12:28:00 PM

I put 'yes' I would buy this again but it is gonna be a bit more difficult as Ambre Eternel is being discontinued. What a shame .

The scent is my favorite for the 3 of this middle eastern type scent series. A new musk is taking its place.

Ambre Eternel 'pulls' from Guerlain heritage ..there are whiffs of Shalimar eau de parfum and then ghostly whiffs of some peach which I guess is from Mitsouko .I also got a little of that ' crayon' type of smell at the opening which i associate with some white florals.
Ambre Eternel starts strong and in the end mellows into a slightly spicy amber.

I will say that Ambre Eternel is not a terribly distinctive scent but still, it's a solid and reliable fragrance for both sexes. Dusky Oriental to the core. If you like clean scents, this is not for you.

The packaging : at first glance it looks quite impressive .Looking closer, I'm sorry it looks a tad cheap and tacky.
I am disappointed this is being discontinued.

Highlighters -Guerlain -Les Meteorites balls powder

I managed to nab the Meteorites Birthday Candles collection during a sale on the Hermo website, and I'm loving these little balls a lot! I have super oily, acne prone skin often exacerbated by the humid weather in South East Asia and prefer to use light makeup/bb cream on a daily basis. This works as a finishing powder which I dust lightly at the end of my morning routine.

The effect feels subtle upon application, which made me skeptical at first use. And yet in certain types of lighting, you can really see what a lovely finish it gives--it's almost as if my huge pores are blurred with this. Some people have noticed the glow and passed compliments too, so it must be doing something great in its subtle manner.

In terms of oil control, it helps to delay the shine, but by the end of the day my t zone will need some blotting. That's OK though, i read some of the reviews pointing this out and did not put high expectations for oil control. Also a big plus that it doesn't break me out.

CONS
-it has a strong scent, which may be irritating for sensitive skin, so one lippie off for this
-It's pretty pricey, but then it will probably last for ages so I guess it's alright.

A word of advice though, don't be swishing your brush in the tin in a hurry over the sink, one of the balls flew right out and into the sink hole, which made my heart cry a little.

Fragrances -Guerlain -Mon Guerlain

After multiple samplings of Mon Guerlain when it was launched in spring of '17 I did buy a full bottle the following fall, and I have been enjoying it a lot, so much so that it's close to being empty! Yes, I also wasn't a fan of the ad campaign but my main reason for holding off on buying was that initially I simply wasn't sure whether this fragrance was unique enough to add it to my already pretty large collection. I do see some faint similarities with La Vie est Belle from Lancome and a few more with Mon Exclusif from Guerlain, neither of which I own. The latter is not so surprising as Mon Exclusif was created by the same famous Guerlain nose, Thierry Wasser. For reference, Guerlains that I do own are Shalimar, Terracotta, Spiritueuse Double Vanille and Cuir Beluga. After using it regularly for close to a year, I definitely think that Mon Guerlain is a very well made gourmand. Although it is this hugely successful best seller and crowd pleaser, I feel that Thierry Wasser has created a quality perfume which exudes elegance and style. It has good staying power on my skin and is never overwhelming. I have worn Mon Guerlain in all seasons and to many different occasions and it worked well in all of them. The opening features a fresh, herbal quality, due to lavender, which I find dry and very enjoyable. A few minutes later, the floral elements, I detect mainly Jasmin Sambac, come into play and the famous vanilla Guerlinade is definitely present also. Mon Guerlain is soft and sweet but neither boring nor too sweet in my opinion, I would recommend that fans of gourmand fragrances give it a try. I also much appreciate the design of the bottle. I find it classic and tasteful yet modern and the pinkish hue of the perfume is simply beautiful. I have already repurchased and I plan to keep this in my rotation.
