So the first packaging of this I got on sale for dirt cheap. I have natural hair that's thin and non-porous. It also does not behave well. After I stopped coloring it, I found that many shampoos and conditioners make them dirty. Still I like to use some conditioner to brush the hair easily, so far winners were Body Shop Strawberry, Dove Lavender and Garnier Banana Hair Food. All of these are super nice but bulky in size. Since I live on a suitcase, I want a smaller product, enter dry oil.I love how you only need a micriscopic amount of this - just rub it in palms and run the trough hair and voila - no excess product, but maximum effect. Shiny, silky hair, easy to comb. And the scent is nice.As they sold out I thought - meh, as usual. But soon I found this one branded Farouk CHI Luxury it came along similar black seed line and packaging was the same, so I bought it again. I have the 15 ml packaging.

Smell is floral and musky. Subtle. It dissipates fairly quickly. This product is a smooth transparent gel the easily spreads in your hands. Very lightweight. Nice for when you want to give your hair something extra when its already looking good. Good as a final leave-in right after the shower. Not recommended for dry hair.

I like the fact that this oil is quick-absorbing and doesn't leave my hair greasy. Although it is probably the most lightweight oil I have tried then it still left my hair looking nice and soft. Nice smell as well.

Serums like this are a must for my overproessed hair most of the time. In my experience with them, I have come across two types of serums in general. Some have a softer consistency, spread more easily on my hair and soften my ends even when my hair is dry. Some have a more squeaky feeling, feel lighter even if the density is the same and these are usually marketed as more "restructuring" products, often with silk protein. This CHI belongs to the latter category and does not have a significant effect on my ends when I air-dry my hair. It is sold as a stronger product than the red bottle. Its superb performance for me is revealed when I use styling tools - especially straighteners. My hair doesn't become oily like it does with other serums sometimes. The result is a very natural look with good style. I can see myself buying this again because of this. The smell is not my favorite, a bit lemony a bit herbal but nothing strong like the red CHI products.

This product really works for heat protection. It also adds body, texture and hold. I'm in the process of growing my hair really long, so saving my ends from split ends is imperative. On wet hair, I apply Chi Infra Thermal Protective Treatment (it's a leave in oil that I love). I then blow dry my hair and spray the Chi iron Guard onto my ends and about half way up (never on the roots). I then pull it through my hair with my hands and allow it to dry. I then proceed with styling with my flat iron. I feel using the product on dry hair works the best. I will definitely purchase this product again. I feel it's a crucial ingredient in being successful in my quest for long hair. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because I find it takes just a tad too long to dry once applied to my hair. But if you're ever in a rush, I suppose you could blow dry it, and then proceed with styling with a hot tool.
