I like that all the Nirvanas that I’ve tried (Amethyst, Black and Bourbon) evolve on the skin quite significantly as time goes on. Amethyst opens with a strong cedar note for the first 30 minutes (to me smells just like cedar shavings). The cedar then takes a backseat to a slightly sweet and floral vanilla that is very pretty. A few hours later, I’m left with an easy white musk. I’m not sure yet if I can get over the cedar shavings phase, but I’ll continue sampling since the dry down is lovely.

The name does not match the description at all. This is very, very heavy in the bourbon - not the boozy aspect but the charred oak barrel aspect. It is not sweet on me at all. It also has strong notes of leather and tobacco - to me it smells like smelling an old leather jacket that had pipe tobacco left in a pocket. It is a really interesting fragrance - I wouldn’t wear it personally but I appreciate that it’s very different from what’s out in the mass market.

my husb favorite perfume on me is Stella so Im always on the lookout for new rose scents to layer with it. This one is very unique it has kind of a camphor/minty smell with the Rose .. or maybe anise. Idk, I know none of those are listed in the notes. Someone else who reviewed this fragrance said it smells kind of witchy & evil.. like a magic potion. it’s definitely unique and not a sweet/girly scent that you’d typically find at the mall.

I have a small vial from Sephora to test. To me, this is a unisex scent and although not amazing, it is nice. It reminds meof Pacifica Sandlewood perfume, which I like better, more interesting and a bit more powerful. A warm, pleasant, scent that seems like it has lavendar, a bit of black pepper and a bit of sandlewood. That said, none of those notes are listed in the fragrance. I don't smell musk at all, and it has musk in it. Perhaps it is the Peony I am smelling, although I have never smelled one. I would not buy a full bottle, I could be happy with Sandlewood from Pacifica, with a much lower price point of about 22 dollars a bottle.

I got a sample in a makeup purchase over a year ago and liked it, but quickly forgot about it since I'm not a "perfume person."Then I brought it along on a business trip, wore it everyday, and fell in love. After much hemming and hawing, I then went and got the mini roller ball "spicy" set. And then (defective roller ball which Sephora refunded) got a deal on the body oil and full size perfume. It turns very sweet and vanilla on me, but those notes tend to come out a lot when I wear anything scented with that in them. Overall, on me it becomes warm, woody, and sweet. I feel cool and put together when I wear this, even if I'm in jeans and a t shirt. It it isn't too strong for me to wear to the office or on public transit. If I go to the gym at the end of the day, the scent becomes more noticeable but not overpowering. If I put it on at around 6:30 am, I can still smell it on my skin at 8pm or so.The only scent I've ever loved this much is the Dove Men Minerals + Sage, which smells wildly different from this.
