Blush -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Blush - Candid Coral

on 10/21/2018 4:28:00 AM

This has been my go to blush for years now. I love it! It's everything I want in a blush. The color is perfect for me. It's such a light and natural color. I'm not into pinks and I don't like my blush to be very bright. I like light and natural, so if you want a color that's going to pop, try something else. There is some shimmer in this, but I personally don't mind it. I apply this over my foundation and powder with a brush. It goes on easily and stays on.

This is definitely worth a try!

Makeup Brushes -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Beautifully Precise Airbrush Blender

You can’t really tell from the photo but this brush is cut on an angle so that it hugs your face. The brush does not soak up product and cleans very easily. It’s soft and somewhere between medium and full density which makes it perfect for applying my luxury splurge foundation (Dior Airflash). I was almost going to indulge myself further by purchasing the Dior brush but when I saw this for a mere fraction of the price I figured what have I got to lose? It more than surpassed my expectations and I would repurchase it if I lost/misplaced it. I love the shape of it more than the dome shaped or flat topped kabuki style brushes that many use to apply foundation. You can use it to stipple or buff in the product, leaves no streaks and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable option.

Lipstick -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Studio Moisturizing Lipstick (all colors)

This product has a lovely forumla which isn't too smooth that it would smear and does not require a lipliner. I purchased this item in shade Ruby Red which has a tad of a berry undertone; it is not a true red. The packaging is spot on and the product does not touch the tube. This formula lasted all day with very few touch-ups required. For $1, I am very pleased with this lipstick.

Brows -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Instant Lift Brow Pencil

on 10/14/2018 3:53:00 PM

I never thought my favorite brow pencil would be a $2 one from Elf. I purchased Taupe, and I don’t know why Elf was able to get this shade right, yet other companies continuously make taupe shades that turn my eyebrows orange-red. The consistency is perfect. It’s not so dry that it ends up tugging on my eyebrow hairs and pulling them out, but it’s not so creamy that it smudges everywhere. I am legitimately terrible at filling in my eyebrows (and doing my makeup in general) but this pencil makes it pretty foolproof. The point is on the finer side, and the color practically blends itself onto my little bald spots. Love it!

Lip Treatments -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Studio Lip Exfoliator

on 10/12/2018 12:43:00 AM

I've tried three different varieties of this exfoliator: original, mint, and rose. Mint was first, and I was digging it for a while until I dropped it one day and the bullet broke clean out of the tube. Needless to say, knowing this was a fragile product put me off purchasing it for a while, even if it was dirt cheap.

Months later, I picked up the rose. The moment I opened it, it smelled off, like the oils in the formula had expired. I pressed on, thinking I was imagining things, and eventually got used to the scent (still not 100% sure if I got a bad batch). I liked the gentler exfoliation but would still use my finger to get my lips nice and supple for bedtime, with an oil-heavy balm over it.

Finally, I got to the original. That one isn't bad by any means, but the crystals are bigger and harsher and I used the tube up much faster. It does smell of brown sugar but I don't recommend licking your lips with this stuff on, the taste is very waxy and unpleasant. Regardless, it's good to know there's a decent, convenient lip scrub in just about every department store and drugstore I walk into, and I will probably repurchase the scented varieties of this in the future.
