Brows -e.l.f. -Instant Lift Brow Pencil

I have a good feeling about the Elf brand because it's cruelty free and the prices are cheap. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck with the line so far, but this brow pencil is one of their best products. There are some high end pencils I prefer, such as Anastasia Brow Wiz and the MAC Eye Brows pencil, but they are expensive. Elf's pencil does the job and you probably have enough spare change in your coin purse right now to cover the cost.

Packaging:

A sturdy white plastic case with lids that don't fall off easily. A spoolie on one end and a fully retractable pencil on the other. One cap is clear to help you remember which end is which. The lead is a little thicker than Anastasia Brow Wiz, but not as thick as the Hourglass brow pencil.

Staying Power:

Very good, although it is not perfect. I have noticed that it can smudge or rub off in places if I scratch my face. Otherwise, it lasts all day.

Color:

Taupe is a nice shade that works with my blonde hair but it's warmer than my ideal match which is the color Fling in MAC's brow pencils. If you are a cool blonde and you need an ash pencil, you're out of luck. Elf's color selection could be improved. Currently there are only three shades.

Price:

Only $2. Absolutely worth it if there is a color that matches you and you don't need the skinniest lead.

Cruelty free & Vegan.

Ingredients:

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyethylene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Ozokerite, Mica, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate (Ve), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol
May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

Loose Powders -e.l.f. -Beauty Shield Setting Powder in Sheer Golden

on 4/19/2018 3:33:00 PM

This is my favorite under eye and Tzone setting powder at the moment. It's like a tinted version of an HD Silica powder. Thats how it looks. The color is fantastic on my NC 42 skin tone, It brightens but doesn't look off in any way. It sets my concealer perfectly without overly emphasizing fine lines. It also as a slight blurring effect. If you sweep it away it sheers out and if you apply more it can look more pigmented. Its not a powder foundation by any means, but the pale yellow color is noticeable, so it has a highlight effect. Its has a matte finish.

The way I use it is after applying concealer and letting it set a bit, I take a decent amount of powder on a flat brush and apply it on my tzone, and to set concealer, I then brush away excess. Not quite as extreme as baking.

The packaging is cute and functional. It also has Licorice Extract and Vitamin E in there, that's part of the Beauty Shield marketing angle.

I like it. Would repurchase.

Eyeliner -e.l.f. -Liquid Eyeliner - Black

This has to be the worst eyeliner I have ever used. I picked this product up for $2 USD since I didn't have a lot of money at the time. Let me tell you- this was a waste! The applicator is a brush instead of a felt tip which makes it difficult to apply. The formula itself is an atrocity: applying another layer removes the one you previously applied! It also disappears if you touch it and it flakes easily. The color of this product is not a true black. Instead it is more of a dark grey.

Even for $2,this product it isn't worth it.

Mascara -e.l.f. -Studio Mineral Infused Mascara

I got this stuff free with my purchase. I've been using the same mascara for about 10 years and never try any others. But, when I received it I gave it a try. Wow. Not bad at all! It's super cheap so I'll definitely be ordering more. And, it's cruelty free, unlike my usual mascara. Score!
